Fantasy
Chronicles of the Last Days Chapter 22
Author’s Note
W
riting this series has been an epic journey in itself, complete with delays and side-quests. Along the way, I’ve been helped along by teachers, critique partners, editors, beta readers, and other writing buddies who’ve become too numerous to list. In more than a decade of writing, I’ve built and explored an island world, a place you could walk the length of in a couple of weeks, with one principal city, inspired by a patchwork of real and imagined places. Its magic was fading, and now Theranis has slipped away into a long hibernation. This concludes the story of the dragons and their priestesses.
As a writer, I’m excited to be moving on to something different. My upcoming projects include a historical romance (possibly under a pen name) and some non-fiction. Eventually, I might write another epic fantasy, but not this year.
Today, I bid a long farewell to Anara and all the dragons that live in the chambered earth, not knowing where or whether we will meet again.
