Marked Twice by the Alpha King Chapter 204
**Ava's POV**
Blake led me through the forest, moonlight filtering through leaves and casting dancing shadows on the ground. Two weeks since the wedding, and this was our first real alone time—no pack business, no guests, no responsibilities. Just us.
"Where exactly are you taking me?" I asked, though I was already buzzing with anticipation.
"Somewhere special," Blake smiled mysteriously. "Only Morgan family knows about it. My great-grandfather discovered it, said it's where the Moon Goddess likes to hang out."
We followed this barely-there trail, forest getting thicker around us. I could hear water somewhere ahead, night birds singing their hearts out. The air smelled like pine and wildflowers—every breath made me feel more relaxed.
"Blake," I said as we walked, "watching Lyra and Thomas tonight got me thinking about fate. What if we'd met back in their time? How would that have worked out?"
He stopped, turning to face me. Moonlight hit his face just right, making him look even more gorgeous than usual. "Doesn't matter when we met. I would've fallen for you anyway. It's destiny, Ava. Inevitable as the moon rising."
My heart did that fluttery thing it always did when he talked like that. Even married, the man could still make me blush like a teenager.
We kept walking, talking about our friends' futures. Sophia had already left for Northern Lights with Lyra, Ella was off on her human world adventure. Everyone chasing their own path, but our bonds staying strong no matter what.
Finally, we reached his mystery destination.
I sucked in a breath. Hidden lake, perfectly round like some giant had pressed a silver cup into the earth. Water smooth as glass, reflecting the full moon so perfectly I couldn't tell which was real and which was reflection. Ancient oaks circled the whole thing like guardians protecting something sacred.
"Blake, this is incredible," I breathed.
"This isn't even the best part," he said, eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Ava, you know what a 'moonlight run' is?"
I shook my head.
"It's one of the most sacred rituals between werewolf mates," Blake explained, voice going serious. "Running in wolf form under moonlight. Complete freedom, complete trust. Deepest connection an Alpha and Luna can share—no words needed, just hearts speaking to each other."
I shivered, not from cold but from how intimate that sounded. "You want to..."
"I want to share this tradition with you," he said quietly. "If you're up for it."
I nodded, excitement and nerves tangling in my stomach. This wasn't just shifting—this was opening up completely, trusting each other with everything we had.
We started undressing slowly, each movement feeling ceremonial. Moonlight painted our skin silver, making everything feel sacred and beautiful.
"Ready?" Blake asked, eyes full of love.
I looked at him, thinking about our whole journey. From that night at Moonlight Lodge when I almost lost control, to becoming his Luna. The road had been full of challenges, pain, joy, and love.
"Yeah," I whispered.
Shifting felt extra smooth in the moonlight. I felt my bones reshape, muscles stretch, silver-gray fur covering my skin. When it was done, I saw the world through wolf eyes—sharper, clearer, more alive.
Blake had become this massive black wolf, majestic and beautiful in the moonlight. His golden eyes watched me, love and desire clear even in wolf form.
We started running.
No destination, no plan, just pure movement. Through the forest, over streams, up rocky slopes, flying across the ground under moonlight. Wind whipped through my fur, earth solid under my paws. This freedom made me want to run forever.
Blake stayed beside me—sometimes leading, sometimes following, our movements perfectly synced like we were two parts of one whole. No words needed to understand each other. This mind-to-mind connection ran deeper than any conversation.
We climbed a hill overlooking both pack territories. From up here, I could see Silverpeak's lights and Shadow Creek's outline in the distance. All of it—our home, our responsibility, our love.
We kept running, playing in the forest. Blake would slow down to let me catch up, then we'd tumble together on soft grass, showing joy and love the wolf way. Pure happiness without any human world complications—just raw, honest emotion.
Finally, we circled back to the lake and shifted back to human form.
Blake had soft blankets ready. We snuggled together on the rocks beside the water, skin still warm from running. The moon had moved to center sky, its reflection swaying gently on the lake surface.
"How was that?" Blake asked, pulling me closer.
"Like nothing I've ever felt," I answered. "Like I finally found who I really am."
We sat in perfect quiet, soaking up the moment. Then I remembered something that'd been bugging me for weeks.
"Blake," I started, getting nervous, "I need to tell you something."
He immediately turned to me, eyes full of concern. "What's wrong?"
"I think... I think I might be pregnant."
Blake's eyes went huge, then his whole face lit up like a thousand stars had exploded behind his eyes.
"Seriously?" His voice cracked with joy.
"I'm not totally sure yet, but there've been signs... like how weird food tasted at the wedding, and other body changes." I explained, face heating up with embarrassment.
Blake jumped up, pulled me with him, and spun me around in the moonlight. "Ava, that's the best news ever!"
When he set me down, tears were streaming down his face. "Our baby," he whispered. "Our family."
"You're happy?" I asked, though his reaction made it pretty obvious.
"Happy? I'm over the moon!" He laughed. "Lucas is gonna get a little brother or sister! We're gonna have our own kid!"
We sat back down, Blake's hand resting gently on my stomach even though nothing showed yet.
"What kind of world will our baby grow up in?" I wondered out loud.
"A better one than we had," Blake said firmly. "Shadow Creek and Silverpeak are allies now, werewolf-human relations are improving. Our kid will grow up surrounded by love and peace."
We talked about future plans—how to tell Lucas (he'd bounce off the walls), how to tell our parents (Dad would cry), balancing Luna duties with being a mom.
"Whatever happens," Blake said, "I'll protect you and our baby. That's my promise."
"We'll protect our family together," I corrected him. "We're mates, remember?"
He smiled—that special smile reserved for perfect happiness. "Right. We're mates."
We kissed one last time, moonlight and peaceful water as our backdrop. This kiss held promises, hope, and excitement for what was coming.
When we finally got up to head home, I took one last look at this magical place. It had witnessed our deepest connection, our purest love, and our dreams for the future.
"Thanks for bringing me here," I told Blake.
"Thanks for choosing me," he answered. "Choosing this family, this life."
We walked hand in hand back through the forest, moonlight showing us the way. Behind us, lake water lapped gently at the shore, like it was blessing our new beginning.

And that's a wrap on my second book!
Hope you enjoyed Blake and Ava's journey from that messy night at Moonlight Lodge all the way to their moonlight run as true mates. These characters have been living in my head for months, and it feels bittersweet to finally say goodbye to them.
Also, if you caught Lyra's backstory, you probably figured out the timeline this book is set in. Sorry I didn't make that clearer in the earlier chapters—sometimes the world-building unfolds as I write, and I realize I should've dropped those hints sooner!
I'm gonna take a break for a while to recharge and let the next story ideas simmer. But don't worry—I'm already plotting book three, and when I'm ready to dive back in, you'll be the first to know!
Thanks for sticking with me through all the drama, the feels, and Blake's ridiculously romantic gestures. You guys are the best.
Until next time! 🐺❤️
