The Ex-Wife's Redemption: A Love Reborn Chapter 185

"Henry, did your sense of ethics suddenly disappear when you stole my wife? Where was your moral compass then?" Henry's voice sliced through the night air, sharp and cold.

If Sophia hadn't been sitting in Alexander's car, Henry might have driven straight into it.

Seeing Sophia with Alexander was unbearable for Henry. Even though they weren't touching, the mere sight of them together made his blood boil.

That woman—his wife—was all smiles around Alexander, but when facing him, she showed nothing but contempt.

By what right? Legally, Sophia was still his wife. How dare she smile at another man like that!

Sophia could clearly hear Henry's voice through the car window. She genuinely didn't want to deal with him right now. Not wanting to put Alexander in an awkward position, she took a deep breath, suppressing her anger, and finally spoke:

"Henry, did you come all the way here to deliver divorce papers?" Her voice was tight with controlled fury. "If that's the case, you're more than welcome. If not, please move your car."

Henry had positioned his car directly in front of Alexander's, completely blocking their path. The distance between the two vehicles was less than three feet—not enough space for Alexander to maneuver out.

When Henry first spotted Sophia with Alexander, jealousy immediately consumed him. Watching her climb into Alexander's car without even noticing his presence had pushed his already simmering anger to the boiling point.

Now he glared at Sophia through the windshield, his eyes widening with rage.

Their standoff was creating a traffic jam in the parking lot. Car horns blared from every direction, the cacophony growing louder by the minute, piercing everyone's ears.

Sophia glared at the man responsible for this chaos, wishing she could drag him out of his car and give him the beating he deserved.

"You're blocking everyone's way!" she shouted. "For God's sake, have some consideration for others!"

Because Henry had blocked the exit, vehicles were piling up, creating a significant backup. Hearing Sophia berate Henry, other drivers rolled down their windows to join in the criticism.

"Think you're special because you drive a fancy car? Even if you were driving an aircraft carrier, you can't block the road!"

"Move it now, or I'll ram into you, and you might not survive that!"

"What the hell, man? Will you die if you don't block everyone's way? This is so annoying! Some of us have urgent matters to attend to. Who's going to compensate for my wasted time?"

One driver even got out of his car, approached Henry's Rolls-Royce, and raised his fist threateningly.

"You son of a bitch! See this fist? If you don't move your car right now, don't blame me if I punch you!"

Some more level-headed drivers had already called the police.

As the situation escalated, angry drivers surrounded Henry's car, ready for a confrontation. Just then, Henry calmly said, "My wife is in that car across from me. Until she comes over, I'm not moving."

The atmosphere instantly shifted. Those who had been preparing to punch him now looked at him with profound sympathy, their anger transforming into understanding for a man betrayed by his wife.

The criticism aimed at Henry ceased abruptly. All eyes turned toward Sophia, still sitting in Alexander's car.

"Lady, it's not cool to cheat on your husband right in front of him," one man called out.

"Get in your husband's car, go home, sleep it off, and all your troubles will disappear," suggested another.

"Ma'am, you're clearly in the wrong here. Your husband came to pick you up, but you're sitting in another man's car? Is that appropriate? Besides, his car isn't nearly as nice as your husband's Rolls-Royce! What are you thinking?"

One man even walked over to Alexander's car, opened the door, and invited Sophia to step out. "Come on, get into your husband's car. I'll have a word with him afterward and make sure he doesn't argue with you when you get home."

After attempting to persuade Sophia, he turned to Henry: "Brother, life is stressful these days, and marital relationships can falter at any moment. Don't be too hard on your wife when you get home!"

The police arrived quickly and asked both Sophia and Henry to step out of their vehicles.

Sophia hadn't anticipated causing such a scene, much less involving law enforcement. Under the officer's mediation, she reluctantly faced Henry.

The officer led them to the sidewalk and asked, "What's your relationship to each other?"

"We're married," Henry stated immediately.

"We have no relationship," Sophia countered.

"What is your actual relationship?" the officer pressed.

"She's my wife," Henry repeated.

"I don't know this man," Sophia insisted.

"If you don't tell me the truth, I'll take you both to the detention center for questioning!" the officer warned. "Now, what is your relationship?"

Henry replied with calm confidence, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly: "We're married."

Sophia was too angry to speak. After fuming silently, she finally explained: "We're a married couple who has already submitted divorce papers."

Henry turned to look at her, his smile mischievous and slightly dangerous. "When did you submit them? Can they be found in the system?"

Sophia refused to engage further. After clarifying their relationship, the officer classified the incident as a domestic dispute: "This is a family matter. Please resolve it at home and don't disrupt public order!"

Henry immediately seized Sophia's hand, apologizing politely to the officer: "You're absolutely right, officer. This is my fault."

"I shouldn't have upset my wife. I'll take her home and make things right."

"I'm sorry for causing trouble. I'll have lunch delivered to your station tomorrow as an apology. Here's my card—my assistant will bring food for everyone."

"I sincerely apologize for disrupting everyone with our marital problems." He distributed cash to all the drivers he had inconvenienced. "I'm truly sorry, everyone. Please forgive me."

Henry's apology seemed genuine, his manner polished and sincere. The drivers, impressed by his distinguished demeanor and apparent remorse, decided not to press the issue.

They watched silently as Henry led Sophia to his car and drove away.

Alexander stood beside his car, one hand in his pocket, observing the entire scene with a cold, detached gaze, not uttering a single word.

It was clear that Henry cared deeply for Sophia. But... Sophia no longer cared for Henry. Even if Henry forcibly took her away, meaningful communication between them seemed impossible.

The winter wind rushed through the car window, dispersing the warmth inside. Sophia sat in the back seat of Henry's car, struggling persistently against his grip. Her wrist had already turned red from his hold, making her wince in pain, but she stubbornly continued fighting.

"Let me go, you bastard!" she spat. "What kind of man bullies a woman like this?"

The instigator of all this chaos showed no signs of anger.

Instead, he tightened his grip on her wrist, seemingly afraid she might escape. Completely unmoved by her insults.

"Am I a real man or not? I think you know the answer better than anyone."

"When I was making you moan in bed, you used to call me 'darling husband,' didn't you?"

The driver in the front seat, hearing this explosive comment, hurriedly raised the partition separating them, desperate to avoid overhearing anything inappropriate.

This was certainly not something a chauffeur should be privy to!
