Hot blood flowed from her neck, flowing faster and faster.

Marcus lowered his head, not knowing what he was thinking. After a long while, he looked up and smiled at me: "Lily, I avenged our child."

The video stopped abruptly. My blood instantly froze.

Madman.

Marcus was a complete madman.

He didn't love me—he was just desperate to find someone to bear his rage because of the harm he'd suffered.

I was so scared my limbs went weak. I immediately reported it to the police.

Little L came over and jumped onto my lap, pressing its forehead to mine, affectionately nuzzling.

Tears instantly burst forth.

Baby.

Is it mommy's baby?

Marcus confessed everything.

A few days later, I received a package containing the divorce agreement.

Different from before, Marcus had transferred all his assets under his name to mine.

Bennett Corporation declared bankruptcy.

Marcus left no words.

As if he'd prepared in advance.

I applied to my company for an overseas exchange position. At the airport, I turned back for one last look, as if bidding farewell to this sad place.

My parents stood far behind, quietly shedding tears.

I turned and threw myself into their arms, continuously sobbing, as if crying out all my grievances.

My parents were getting old, so I hadn't told them anything about Marcus and me.

Even when leaving, I'd planned to leave without a word.

Never thought they'd known all along, silently watching over me from behind.

"Lily, if you've thought it through, just do it." Dad touched my head, his face loving: "Mom and Dad will always be your support."

Mom cried her eyes out, supported by Dad.

My heart ached and ached. Only then did I realize what I'd neglected all these years—my aging parents, my parents who constantly worried about me.

I didn't want to leave anymore.
