After the wedding, I told Dad and Seth about my concerns regarding Lucas.

Seth patted my hand, softly comforting me: "Don't worry. He's a grasshopper after autumn—won't be jumping around much longer."

"Lucas was brain-damaged in that accident, wasn't he? Then he shouldn't occupy Montgomery Corporation's CEO position."

Dad was very satisfied: "Good! With you protecting Natalie, I'm at ease. What's your plan for dealing with him?"

Seth smiled: "To be honest, Dad, Max Montgomery was my college classmate. He's hardworking, upright, and honest—plus he's Mr. Montgomery's blood. If he manages the Montgomery family, it would be perfectly legitimate."

I seemed to understand Seth's meaning and spoke up:

"Foster Corporation and Montgomery Corporation have cooperated for years. Although we have the world's most cutting-edge technology, we can't match Montgomery Corporation's market share. If Montgomery Corporation is ruined in that idiot Lucas' hands, it won't benefit Foster Corporation either. Better to find a more suitable captain for this big ship—that way we can protect Foster Corporation's interests too!"

After speaking, Seth and I exchanged smiles.

Dad nodded approvingly: "Young people with vision and breadth of mind! I agree with your assessment."

"At today's reception, I chatted with Max for a bit. He has much of Mr. Montgomery's character back in the day—someone who can accomplish great things! Helping him seize Montgomery Corporation means he'll owe us a favor."

I don't know what Dad and Seth did, but soon Max's company became a rising star in the industry.

Media outlets also revealed that Max and Lucas were half-brothers who shared equal inheritance rights.

Shareholders who had previously divested from Montgomery Corporation also sent cooperation signals to Max.

Lucas was furious, cursing up a storm in front of Old Mrs. Montgomery.

Old Mrs. Montgomery glared at him in frustration:
