According to Ethan, all dragon-folk had to undergo a coming-of-age ritual, spending time in human society before earning their qualifications.

After Ethan came out with the group, he accidentally boarded the wrong vehicle at a transfer station.

He had no identification, no money.

Relying on kind strangers' help, he'd wandered alone for several days.

Until I found him.

Their species' reproduction wasn't gender-specific—any dragon-person willing to nurture life could bear offspring.

But it had to happen in the deep ocean.

That's why Ethan had confessed his identity and temporarily left.

He just hadn't expected me not to believe him at all.

Speaking of this, the little dragon-person, currently in an emotionally unstable separation anxiety phase, had tears forming in his eyes.

He complained pitifully: "You clearly said you believed I was a dragon-person before."

Ethan asked: "Do you want to see her?"

I nodded: "Yes."

I'd never imagined I'd suddenly have a child one day.

And this child had dragon blood.

What would she look like?

Would she be in human form or dragon form?

Would she take after me more, or after Ethan?

I imagined excitedly as Ethan took out a camera device and projected it onto the large whiteboard.

I didn't blink, afraid to miss anything.

The ocean floor on the screen was breathtakingly beautiful.

Glowing pearls and gems illuminated the seabed brightly.

Clearly visible in the center was a beautiful little bed made of shells and coral.

Resting on it was a dark, round... egg.

An egg?

Could a human and a dragon-person produce an egg?

I asked hesitantly, feeling dazed: "Ethan, when you dragons are young, you're actually eggs?"

"No."

Ethan said without hesitation: "We're born in small dragon form."

If that's the case, how can you be sure this is really our child?

His voice held a hint of pride: "Only our baby is an egg."

My lips parted, but I ultimately didn't voice this question.

An egg it is, I thought in resignation, closing my eyes to comfort myself.

There was nothing more absurd in this world than having a boyfriend who was a dragon-person that could bear children.

Even if he produced an egg, it seemed within reason.

Ethan pointed at the dark egg and asked me: "Isn't it cute?"

I was silent for a moment before saying with difficulty: "Cute."

Ethan continued admiring the egg with satisfaction.

I thought for a moment and finally opened my conversation with my assistant: "Find me a psychiatrist."
