The Godfather's Love Has Expired Chapter 2
After Serafina came back, Julian didn't think of me once.
I stopped playing the role of the crazy, jealous ex-wife.
I didn't bribe his staff for information or stalk his locations.
Instead, I lived my best life with my best friend, Chloe.
We ate top-tier steak, drank expensive champagne, and hit the casinos in Las Vegas.
There were only 20 days left until I left for good.
One day, Chloe and I were waiting for a table at a three-star Michelin restaurant.
Suddenly, Julian and Serafina walked in.
Julian had his arm around her waist.
They were laughing and whispering, looking like the perfect couple.
"Ava?"
Julian's eyes locked onto me instantly.
Serafina hugged Julian's neck possessively and smiled sweetly.
"Ava! What a surprise. You're eating here too?"
Julian stepped in front of Serafina, shielding her from me.
He was afraid I would attack her like I did in the past.
But I didn't move.
I even grabbed Chloe's arm to stop her from starting a fight.
I smiled nonchalantly.
"Yeah. What a coincidence."
Serafina saw that I was backing down, so she became bolder.
"I'm so sorry, Ava. Julian promised to book the whole place just for me tonight."
She gave me a fake, apologetic look.
"You might have to go somewhere else."
She shook Julian's arm and pouted.
"Right, Julian? Say something, or Ava will think I'm bullying her."
Julian looked at my calm eyes and hesitated.
But eventually, he nodded at me.
He didn't say a word, but his silence hurt more than any insult.
Chloe's fists were clenched tight.
I gently patted her arm.
"It's okay. We can go somewhere else."
Somewhere without Julian.
I was leaving soon.
I didn't want to waste my remaining time arguing with my ex-husband.
As a qualified ex, I should treat Julian Costello as if he were dead.
The restaurant manager rushed over to compliment them.
"You two are a match made in heaven! Truly envious."
Julian looked at me with a complicated expression.
He seemed to be waiting for me to explode.
But I just took Chloe's hand and walked away.
Julian stared at my retreating back, stunned by my lack of reaction.
Serafina had to call his name several times before he finally looked away.
