The Paranormal Streamer Chapter 5

4 min 95.9K views

I stayed here for several days, recovering every day. My eyes clearly improved—no more sharp pain.

I heard footsteps approaching—must be Frank bringing food. But one thing always puzzled me: why did this place echo? Was I in a cave? Only caves would be like this. Also, Frank's footsteps sounded strange today—much slower than before. Was he injured?

Suddenly Frank was beside me: "Young man, fresh rabbit. Eat up."

I shivered: "Sir, you were just far away. How did you get here so fast?"

"How's that possible? I walked pretty fast. Young man, did something happen? Tell me."

I told Frank about the strange things happening these past days. After hearing, I clearly felt him trembling. "Sir, what's wrong? Why are you scared?"

"Nothing. Eat quickly. Tomorrow your eyes should be normal. When you're better, leave immediately. I'm old—doesn't matter. You're young—don't let curiosity harm you. Go home obediently."

I was confused: "But sir, I don't even know where I am. Why is it so damp here?"

Frank didn't respond for a while. Suddenly he seemed like a different person, shouting: "Haha, you'll all die!"

Soon Frank fell silent. I wanted to curse the old man—what was wrong with him? Why'd he suddenly lose it?

I shouted, "Sir, are you okay? Why aren't you talking?"

Worried, I felt toward where he'd shouted. Suddenly a cold hand grabbed my leg, and I felt another hand drawing something on my leg. Must be Frank, but why wasn't he talking? About a minute later, that hand lost strength and slid off. Then endless dripping sounds.

I felt dizzy, overwhelmingly sleepy. I hoped for tomorrow's sunrise, for the moment I could see light again.

The next day, some sound woke me. Frank didn't bring food today. I was starving. I suddenly remembered last night's events—Frank's shout, then silence, then grabbing my leg.

What happened? I was desperately curious.

These mysteries kept circling in my mind. I touched my eyes—no more pain. I removed the bandage. Opening my eyes, I was shocked—there was a military coat with only a skeleton inside, plus maggots. Holy crap, what happened?

I remembered Frank drawing on my leg yesterday. I quickly looked—three big words: "GET OUT!"

What happened here? Why did Frank tell me to leave quickly? How did the old man suddenly die here? Ghosts? I thought that's impossible. This world has no such things. I never believed.

I examined my surroundings. This was a large cave, seemingly artificially carved. Not far away was the cave opening. I didn't worry about Frank—I just bowed to him. This happened so suddenly. Fortunately my phone and things were still here. Checking—still no signal. I observed inside the cave—seemed like no exit. The bright cave opening was overhead, over thirty feet high. How could I fly up there?

Now I was confused. How had Frank brought me food these past days? I suddenly remembered the story people in town told—during the war, Frank had fallen into a cave where all his comrades died, only Frank survived.

If the story was true, only Frank knew where the cave exit was. Now I was screwed. How could I get out? I forced myself to calm down and think.

"Did Frank pretend to be mad, sometimes lucid, sometimes crazy, to hide something?"

I began searching the cave. After looking around, I found that old stone tablet, hidden pretty deep. If not for my sharp eyes, I wouldn't have found it.

Looking at the moss covering it, I was puzzled. Obviously very old—definitely not an exit. Still, I was curious about its secrets. No other choice anyway. Might as well try—better than starving here. What if something weird appeared in this cave? Frank's corpse was right there.

I prepared to dig out the stone tablet. As I dug, the stone clearly appeared before me. The characters didn't look like regular ancient script. I'd been to many places before—these looked like some indigenous shamanic symbols. I hadn't paid much attention before, but I didn't expect them to actually exist.

I saw a mechanism on the wall that perfectly matched the tablet's size. Without hesitation, I pressed the tablet into it. Suddenly a passage opened in the cave. I grabbed my gear, thinking, Thank you, Mr. Frank, for taking care of me these days. I will find out what happened here.

Walking along, I discovered this really was a tomb, but it was empty—probably looted by grave robbers long ago. But why was it completely clean? I walked through the tomb for about 6 hours. I was getting depressed, thinking I'd never get out. Suddenly I heard flowing water. I ran toward it—an underground river was flowing. It must lead outside. I dove straight in, letting the water carry me. I used all my strength to avoid drowning, but I hadn't eaten in so long. My strength was fading. As the current got stronger, my eyelids felt like they had stones attached, gradually closing as I passed out.
