ALPHA KING'S SECRET TRIPLETS Chapter 56
HUNTER'S POV
In the forest, the night enveloped everything in its dark cloak, but the heightened senses of my gray wolf form made the darkness irrelevant. Guided by the strong scent of the Brown Bear, I advanced through the forest until I reached the riverbanks snaking through the landscape.
As I stopped at the riverbanks, I noticed the trail of the Bear splitting, making it difficult to discern its direction. I focused, trying to decipher the right path when suddenly, I felt massive claws gripping me from behind. A brutal force threw me against the rocks by the river, and for a moment, my world was an explosion of pain and confusion.
I rose with determination, my focus now on the gigantic Brown Bear looming before me. The unfolding fight held much more significance than a physical battle. It was a struggle for my future, for the role I would play in the pack, and above all, for the safety of Fierce, the she-wolf who occupied my heart.
While the Bear charged at me again, I dodged and counterattacked, each move calculated to neutralize my opponent. The Bear's strength was immense, but I couldn't allow it to overpower me. Every punch, every evasion, was a deadly dance on the battlefield.
As these thoughts permeated my mind, the Bear lunged at me again, throwing me even further. I defended myself, but its attacks were swift and fierce. The sounds of growls and the clash of bodies filled the night, echoing through the forest like an ancient duel.
In a moment of imbalance, the Bear seized the opportunity and hurled my body against a nearby rock. Pain throbbed in my lupine form, but I refused to yield. The Bear, seeing the chance for a fatal blow, raised its massive paw, ready to deliver the final strike that would conclude the test.
However, before the blow could be completed, a powerful growl echoed through the clearing, interrupting the tense air. A black wolf, agile and fierce, emerged from the shadows of the forest, launching itself at the Bear's back. Fierce, the she-wolf I loved, was there, defying the rules by coming to my aid.
A wave of conflicting emotions swept through me. I couldn't deny the joy of seeing Fierce there, fighting by my side, but I also knew her presence violated the rules set by the test I was facing.
“What are you doing here?” I grunted while trying to recompose myself.
Fierce, her eyes full of determination, replied, “I came to help you.” My expression hardened. Knowing the rules of the test, I couldn't accept her interference.
“You need to go,” I said firmly, despite the pain and exhaustion. “This test is mine.”
Fierce stared at me intensely, a mixture of concern and love in her lupine eyes. She knew this test was crucial, not just for me but for the future of our pack.
However, Fierce, filled with courage and determination, ignored my words and advanced against the Bear. Her black fur stood out in the night, a fearless figure facing the threat looming before us.
I recovered and joined the battle, the duality of feelings weighing on me. While Fierce and I fought side by side, I knew that this interference could have consequences. The Moon Goddess would not approve of such a deviation from the established test.
The Brown Bear, now facing two fierce wolves, displayed growing fury. Its attacks were desperate, and our teamwork became a dangerous dance between prey and predator.
Amidst roars and growls, I couldn't help but admire Fierce's fearless determination. However, the weight of responsibility continued to torment me. The Moon Goddess was unforgiving, and even though I loved Fierce, I knew my loyalty to the pack was above all else.
The battle unfolded with intensity, and as the Bear showed signs of weakening, my heart was burdened with the choices that would be inevitable after this night.
At the height of the battle, the Bear, consumed by rage, managed to land a powerful blow, severely injuring Fierce's paw. Her howl of pain echoed through the forest, and my heart, normally serene, ignited with overwhelming fury.
In an impulse, my attention turned entirely to the Bear. A wild rage surged from my depths, and I attacked the furious giant with renewed determination. Every blow I delivered was charged with the strength of the love I held for Fierce. My sole objective was to neutralize the Bear, pushing it away from the fallen body of my companion.
I pushed the Bear towards the forest, away from where she lay wounded. The battle raged on, but my focus was on protecting Fierce. Every move the Bear made was confronted by me.
Finally, the Bear's fury was tamed, and its body collapsed on the ground. I, now exhausted and covered in wounds, transformed back into my human form. I knelt before the defeated rival, my labored breath mingling with the silence that settled.
With trembling hands, I removed the Bear's skin as proof of success in the trial imposed by the Moon Goddess. The rough and thick skin represented not only my ability to overcome a physical challenge but also my commitment to the pack and, above all, to Fierce.
The joy of victory was overshadowed by concern for her health. I stood, the Bear's skin in hand, and walked towards Fierce. I looked at Fierce, still lying there, her injured paw, and a mix of emotions engulfed me.
“Wake up, Fierce. Please wake up,” I whispered, kneeling beside her.
Fierce's eyes opened slowly, revealing the weakness consuming her. She smiled weakly upon seeing me, and her words were fragile whispers. “You did it, Hunter.”
I held her hand firmly, relieved to see her awake. “We won, Fierce. But you need to stay awake, you need help.”
Fierce, still weak, nodded. “You will be the next Alpha King... and I, your Luna....”
Taken aback by her words, I stared at Fierce with a mix of shock and emotion. “You... you accept, Fierce?”
Fierce, even in her weakened state, smiled gently. “Yes, a thousand times yes.”
I knew that by accepting to be my Luna, she was willing to face all challenges by my side. I embraced Fierce, bringing her into my arms. The moon witnessed not only the victory in battle but also the proof of the love that existed between us.
However, the joy was interrupted when I realized that Fierce had fainted. The wear and tear of the battle and the wounds were too much to bear. Carefully, I held her gently, promising myself that I would do everything in my power to protect her.
“I'll get help, Fierce. I won't lose you,” I promised as I prepared to take her and find assistance. Now more than ever, I knew we were meant to lead our pack as Alpha King and Luna.
