"Really?" His voice dripped with contempt. "A Flesh-Weaver who transforms wolves into mindless pets is suddenly capable of sympathy? God, that's rich!" His eyes blazed with defiance despite the tremor in his hands. "Even if I don't have much time left, I'll drag you to hell with me!"

Guilt sliced through me like a blade. *Frost's time is running out?* I glanced at Elowen, saw the same stricken expression on her face.
