"Bianca, if we have a baby, let's call it Hope, okay? I want you and the child to be full of hope!"

Dante's excited voice, with its rising intonation from back then, surfaced clearly in her mind.

But now, he had given this name to someone else.

She forced down the twisting pain in her heart that nearly made her lose her balance.

In the end, she was still affected by this sudden child.

She didn't want to stay a second longer. She just wanted to leave this suffocating place immediately.

But then, with a cry of alarm, Mia fell at the entrance of the restroom.

Dante rushed in almost instantly. "Mia, are you okay?"

Mia looked at him through teary eyes. "Dante, I just wanted to persuade Bianca to make up with you. I don't know why she has such malice toward me..."

Dante looked at Bianca with exhaustion. "Bianca, do we have to take our issues out on others? You know her health isn't good."

Bianca watched him protect Mia in his arms. Any words of explanation seemed so ridiculous now.

But a voice rang out from behind them, agitated. "Wait a minute!"

Everyone turned to look. A middle-aged couple with an air of elegance stepped forward.

"It's Senator Sterling. He was just re-elected last year."

"His wife is a famous philanthropist. The Sterling family carries a lot of weight in Washington."

Many families present would kill for political protection from the Sterling family, but the couple never participated in mafia gatherings.

Seeing the two, Mia was visibly stunned. "Mom? Dad? Why are you here?"

The way people looked at Mia instantly became warmer. They thought she was just a canary.

Turns out, she was the daughter of the Sterling family.

That day, she remembered an old item—a rose rosary she wore around her neck when she got lost. After searching everywhere, she realized she might have left it in that old apartment in Brooklyn.

She drove over. Standing in front of that familiar door, she found everything had changed.

The old wooden door was replaced with a brand-new security door. Even the smart lock that used to have her fingerprint had its system updated, completely locking her out.

She was silent for a moment, then sent a text to Dante:

I'm at the apartment door. I need to get something. Please open the door.

Dante replied quickly: I'm coming over now.

However, Mia arrived before him. Her eyes were full of defensiveness.

"Isn't it enough that you snatched my family? What do you want to snatch now? This is Dante's and my home!"

Bianca didn't even bother to give her a direct look.

"Miss Mia, you're mistaken about two things."

"First, whether they are your family or not is determined by DNA, not by me. And technically speaking, you occupied my place. This is called returning things to their original owner."

"Second, the name on the property deed for this building is mine. Dante gave it to me right after he bought it. So, legally speaking, this is my turf."
