Ethan's face instantly darkened. "Who are you?!"

The old man said angrily: "Didn't you ask me to come?! So I came for nothing?!"

The teacher looked sharply at Ethan and said furiously: "So you did this?!"

He scanned the entire class, saying painfully: "I've always believed my students were the best kids. You've disappointed me so much!"

Amid the teacher's repeated reproaches, I secretly nodded at the old man, who smiled knowingly and collected all the empty bottles.

At the teacher's signal, everyone apologized to me.

Ethan reluctantly grunted, "Sorry."

I dug at my ear and shouted: "What? I'm hard of hearing. Speak louder."

Ethan's face turned red with anger. Under the teacher's glare, he apologized properly.

"For bullying a classmate, write me a thousand-word self-criticism!"

Afterward, I transferred money to the old man.

He said happily: "Miss, as long as you're willing, I'm the best actor."

After school, I walked to a secluded intersection near school where a low-key black sedan was parked.

The assistant respectfully took my backpack.

After I got in the car, the girl I sponsored suddenly sent me a message.

"Sister, I ranked first in my entire grade this time!"

Rachel Zhao showed me her report card, which finally improved my mood somewhat.

She and her grandmother depended on each other. Sometimes to supplement the household, she'd collect bottles too.
