Psychocriminalist Chapter 5
Ding dong
The doorbell rang. I opened the door.
"Hello, Ms. Norton. You called for pickup, right?"
I answered cheerfully, "Yes, I've been waiting for you."
I pointed to the blue box by the door: "This one might be a bit heavy."
"Okay, the address you filled out is City Police Station. Is that correct?"
"Yes, that's the address."
"Same-city delivery will arrive by 3 PM. Have a pleasant day."
I closed the door.
"Derek, the game has begun."
After a nap, I woke to dozens of missed calls on my phone, all from Derek.
I called back, my voice lazy: "What's wrong? I just woke up."
"I'm at your door."
"You came back?"
He frantically opened the door. I walked out of the bedroom as he looked me up and down.
"Chloe, are you okay?"
Several other officers followed behind him.
I asked with a blank expression, "What's wrong? What happened?"
"The 1/27 killer has struck again. The perpetrator may have already targeted you. This time the victim was a woman, which means you might be on his kill list now."
I showed extreme terror and threw myself into his arms.
"Begin," Derek said to the other officers.
They started examining the house for traces, not even missing any dust.
Later, I was taken to the police station for questioning.
