I need to come clean about something that's been eating at me. There are plot threads I set up that I never properly resolved, and I hate leaving things hanging like that. The biggest one is Ryan's backstory. I had this whole elaborate plan where he was secretly the child of a one-night stand between the main characters—the mother thought she'd miscarried, Orion unknowingly adopted his own kid from an orphanage, dramatic irony everywhere. But honestly? The more I worked on it, the more it felt like a soap opera twist that would make you roll your eyes and throw the book across the room.

I got a little too ambitious with the mystery elements, I'll admit. Too many secret identities, too many "who is this person really?" moments without enough payoff. Sometimes as a writer you realize you've painted yourself into a corner, and the only honest thing to do is acknowledge it rather than force some ridiculous explanation that ruins everything else.

Writing this has been a wild ride. These characters became real people to me somewhere along the way, especially the relationship between Aveline and Vivian. That sisterhood they developed wasn't something I planned from the beginning—it just happened naturally as I wrote, and honestly, it became one of my favorite parts of the whole story.
