The Blind Little Husband Chapter 6
Gasps filled the air as everyone turned to stare at Charlotte, the center of the incident.
When Wyatt noticed me, the ice on his face melted rapidly, even carrying a hint of seeking praise.
I shook my head with amusement. People really were different from each other.
But time reveals a person's true nature. Vincent had seemed gentle and harmless at first too.
Charlotte rose with hatred, rushing at me to strike.
"Sophia Foster, who do you think you are? How dare you have your beast slave attack me! You owe me an explanation today!"
I grabbed her arm and slapped her hard across the face.
"So what if I attacked you? An explanation? What explanation do you want?"
Charlotte held her face, staring at me in disbelief.
"You hit me? You actually hit me? Of course you should give me Wyatt, that cheap slave, and both of you should apologize to me! Otherwise, I'll never let you go!"
So noisy. I rubbed my wrist and slapped her again.
"What are you barking about? Tsk tsk, your face is so thick it hurts my hand. First, Wyatt's current status isn't that of a beast slave. Second, my person hit you, so what? No apology needed!"
Charlotte's swollen face froze in shock again.
"Sophia Foster, have you lost your mind? Hitting me again? Aren't you afraid I'll tell on you? What are you so proud of? Acting all high and mighty—you still bonded with Wyatt, didn't you? Everything that's yours, I'll take sooner or later, including today's humiliation!"
Charlotte had always liked using her elders' favor to her advantage. When she couldn't win something, she loved tattling.
Well, let's see. In my past life, if she and Vincent hadn't conspired and plotted against me, how could I have died miserably in the wilderness?
I wouldn't let either of them go!
I raised my hand again and slapped Charlotte hard across the face.
"Take it? Then try! As for bonding, you're actually wrong. Wyatt was the one who initiated the bond with me."
Charlotte's face was swollen like a pig's. She stared at me with pure hatred.
"Impossible! He's the highest-combat-ability beast slave. No one can make him submit to bonding and servitude."
Wyatt walked over to confirm what I'd said.
"I willingly initiated the bond. You got a problem with that? Where's your beast slave? Your master's been injured this long, and your beast slave is still slacking off, hasn't even shown up!"
A beast slave's main responsibility was to protect their master, yet Charlotte had been injured all this time and Vincent still hadn't appeared.
I knew where Vincent was. He was taking the opportunity to network and build his own connections. He had no time or energy to care what happened to Charlotte.
Charlotte snapped to attention and instinctively looked around.
"Vincent! Where's Vincent?"
After a long while, Vincent emerged from the crowd, hurrying to help Charlotte.
"Master, you're injured? Let me take you to the hospital..."
Charlotte, furious, slapped Vincent hard across the face. His head snapped to the side from the force.
"Useless dog! Your master was being bullied to death and you were hiding far away! Help me leave now!"
Vincent's arm veins bulged, his fist clenching and unclenching before he finally showed a docile, good-natured smile and led Charlotte away.
"Yes, master suffered. I'll take you away now."
Given Vincent's temperament, with Charlotte treating him this way, he'd definitely hold a grudge.
