The Crimson Game Chapter 15
During their hesitation, a shrill voice called out from the crowd:
"Guys! That girl's going through our bags!"
Everyone preparing for battle turned in that direction.
The girl who'd been standing behind Tank and me was now at the wall, head down, rapidly rummaging through their bags.
Tank spun around.
When did the girl we were protecting get over there?
"Forget the fight! Grab that girl!" the bald man shouted furiously.
"I'd like to see you try!" Tank charged forward, blocking everyone.
He swung left and right, diving into the crowd.
Instantly, two players were knocked to the ground by Tank's blows.
I seized the moment, swinging my pipe at a player's knee.
The player screamed and clutched his leg, no longer able to resist.
"Jake! Didn't know you had it in you~" Tank even had time to wink at me mid-battle.
Seeing his confidence, I relaxed.
In less than a minute, only the bald man and two other players remained standing.
The three of them were drenched in cold sweat, backing away.
The bald man's two companions figured they'd just come to steal items—no need to risk their lives for this.
The girl appeared behind us, panting.
She held up the stolen white gloves, waving them in the air.
Her face was flushed pink.
"Jake! Mission accomplished, just like you said! Tank! If we're leaving, all three of us leave together."
The bald man's eyes turned bloodshot, staring at the white gloves in the girl's hand. Through clenched teeth, he asked: "Where did you find those? We definitely didn't have—"
Before he finished, the girl had already ducked behind Tank, gripping his shirt with a terrified expression. "Tank, I'm scared."
Tank held the long pole, gesturing at the bald man. The man glared at us unwillingly before hurrying away.
I looked down at the girl cowering behind Tank and fell into thought.
