After Ryan's scheme against me, Gina took me to the Yates residence.

After my body recovered, I bought her a bouquet of flowers to express my gratitude.

She smelled the flowers, then said,

"We're about to get married. There's no need to be so formal!"

True as that may be, I still needed to show some gesture. Besides, she had taken good care of me these past few days.

The next time I saw Ryan was at his wedding ceremony with Susan.

Compared to my wedding with Gina, theirs was held on a grand scale.

There were even rumors outside that Miss Cole really loved Ryan, and gossip accounts said I wasn't favored by Miss Yates.

These days at the Yates residence had been nothing but comfortable—with people serving me and money to spend. More importantly, Gina had found me a legal industry expert to mentor me. She really cared about me.

The moment Ryan saw me, he couldn't have been more smug.

He walked over obnoxiously.

"Why didn't Gina come with you? Did she reject you?"

His lips curled up high.

"Listen to me—even if you're rejected, it's fine. That's just your fate. Accept it!"

I lowered my head and smiled, raising my wine glass to clink with his.

"Gigi didn't want to see you!"

Ryan's smile immediately froze.

As he was about to lose it, I stepped back two paces, keeping my distance.

"Happy wedding!"

God knows how much I looked forward to his married life.
