"Clayton Bennett, you did that on purpose, didn't you?"

After talking with Mr. Martin, I went to the restroom and was cornered by Ryan.

His hands were clenched so tightly they cracked, his brows furrowed to the sky.

"Yes, I did it on purpose."

Seeing him like this, I smiled and admitted it openly.

"You always used to deliberately take my things, deliberately make things difficult for me, didn't you? Now that I'm deliberately doing this to you, isn't that perfectly normal?"

"Bullshit! What are you to compare yourself to me? Clayton Bennett, you never should have been born into this world."

Right—his hostility toward me had existed since birth.

We were twins, but he always felt I shouldn't exist, so he put me down at every turn. With our parents' favoritism, he bullied me with impunity.

Ryan was emotional and tried to attack me, but I kicked him to the ground.

He screamed.

I used my foot to lift his pant leg.

Ryan was breathing heavily from the pain.

"Clayton Bennett, I won't let you off!"

"Won't let me off? You'd better think about what Susan will do to you tonight. Those injuries are from her, aren't they?"

"No!"

Ryan immediately denied it.

"Susan loves me so much. How could she bear to hurt me? Let me tell you, when Susan finds out you hit me, she'll definitely be angry!"

This hit his pride.

"Which eye saw me groveling?"

"Mr. Martin is nothing to me—can't even compare to a toe of the Cole family!"

I sneered coldly.

"I hope you really have such backbone!"

I turned and left, then went to find Mr. Martin.

I had recorded what I'd just said to Ryan, deliberately editing it to just the last two sentences for him to hear.

After listening, Mr. Martin's expression changed several times.

"Well! The Cole family sure has some nerve!"

Mr. Martin darkly announced on the spot that he would never have any cooperation with the Cole family in his lifetime.

When Susan heard this news, her expression changed repeatedly.

But she reacted quickly enough and immediately went to ask Mr. Martin what had happened.

Mr. Martin glanced at Ryan limping out of the restroom and snorted coldly before leaving.

Susan immediately blamed Ryan for this.

She gritted her teeth and dragged him away. Ryan didn't even have time to react.

I stood to the side watching the show.

After they left, I shifted my gaze and suddenly met Gina's eyes.

Only then did I realize she had witnessed everything.

My heart skipped a beat, and I even felt somewhat guilty.

I was actually worried about my image in her eyes.

But when she walked over and smiled as she took my hand, I read indulgence in her eyes.

I felt really strange right now.

"Let's go home!"

I pretended to be composed and nodded.

Whether I'd drunk too much at the gala or what, sitting in the car with Gina, I felt restless all over.

I loosened my tie randomly.

Gina looked at me.

"What's wrong? Why is your face so red?"

I moved away from her, looking out the window to try to divert my attention.

But she leaned in closer again, her faint fragrance flooding my nostrils.

"Do you need my help?"

Her tone was soft, making my heart itch. Yet she seemed completely unaware.
