Werewolf
The Alpha and his Panther Mate Chapter 117
BLAKE
After Allie and I cried for a few minutes, she leaned back and moved to the edge of the bed.
I watch her as she moves, never taking my eyes off her.
Allie dangles her legs over the edge.
“Daddy,” says Allie quietly, “Mummy used a lot of power, didn’t she?”
I watch her for a moment, wondering what is going on in her little head.
I must have been quiet for too long as she looks over at me.
“Yeah, she did,” I say.
Allie watches me for a moment, “I want to see Archer,” she says as she jumps down off the bed.
I stare at her for a moment, “Allie,” I say, “You can see Archer in a moment, but I think you should stay with me and have some pancakes.”
Allie stares at me, “I want pancakes,” she says and climbs onto the chair by the side of the bed.
I move over to the edge of the bed, placing my feet on the ground.
I can tell all of my injuries have healed, with one or two still on show, but I can move more than I did a few hours ago.
There was a knock at the door and in walks the pack doctor with my father and mother following in right behind him.
“Young alpha, you should be resting,” says the doctor as he walks over to my side.
I stare at him, “I’m nearly healed, and I want some food for Allie and me,” I say as I smile at her.
Allie smiles back as my mother walks over to her and picks her up.
Allie wraps her arms around her neck and clings to her as my mother sits back down while placing Allie on her lap.
I watch as Allie leans into my mother.
“Son,” says my father in a gruff voice.
I turn to look at him.
“Is there any new news on Izzy?” I ask him, looking between my father and the pack doctor.
The doctor looks at my father, and I watch my father nod at him.
“Young alpha, your mate is still unconscious, and she has been placed in a magical coma to protect her body,” he says, “There is still no change.”
I stare at him, “What do you mean she's in a magical coma to protect her body?” I ask him.
I can feel Axel stir inside at the mention of Izzy, but Axel is being too quiet.
“Lena placed a spell on her to help her heal while she rests,” says my father.
I sigh and move my head upwards to look at the ceiling.
I need to see my mate.
“I need to see her,” I say as I lower my head down and look back at both men, “I need to see her, not just for me but for Axel too.”
Axel stares through my eyes, and he watches the men shift from one foot to another.
Judging by how the pack doctor is acting, he doesn’t want us to see her, which is not helping me.
“I think you should leave it for now and rest,” says my father.
A slight growl slipped through my lips, “How would you feel if that was mum?” I say through clenched teeth.
My father stares at me, “Blake, I know you want to see her, but we need to make sure you are well enough to see her first,” he says.
I move up off the bed and stand in front of him, “I’m fine,” I say, “I want to be discharged now, or I will let Axel have fun in this hospital.”
Axel smirks but doesn’t say anything.
“Axel is fine; it’s you that needs to be calm down,” says my father.
I can’t help but snarl, “I need to see her,” I say to him.
I felt a hand being placed on my arm, I was about to growl at them, but I realized the hand was small.
I look down at Allie, staring at my father, “Daddy and I want to see mummy,” she says, “I can help mummy.”
My father looks at her, “You can’t, sweetie,” he says.
Allie moves off my mother's lap, and her arm leaves my hand.
She stares at my father, “I want to see my mummy,” she says a little louder.
Axel pushes through and becomes one with me.
My father glances back at me with wide eyes, “You need to let pup go to mate,” we say together.
No one moves in the room, but Allie hasn’t taken her eyes off my father.
“I, not a weredog,” she says, “I’m a cat-like mummy, I look like mummy, and I know I am right.”
Suddenly I could feel some power sweeping into the room, and I looked to my daughter as Axel pushed me forward but made sure he was close by.
In front of me was a mirror; I glanced at it and noticed Allie’s features.
She stares at the pack doctor and my father, but it’s her eyes; they aren't her blue eyes anymore; they are gold.
What the hell?
“Mummy needs me,” she says.
My father's eyes go wide, and he opens his mouth, but no words come out.
I walk towards Allie and place my hand on her shoulder, my eyes never leaving the mirror.
The power dies down within as she closes her eyes.
I can feel her lean into my legs.
I bend down and pick her up.
Allie turns and wraps her arms around my neck, “I want mummy,” she says as a tear land on my shoulder.
I hold Allie tight, but I glance back at my parents and the pack doctor.
“I think you better discharge me now,” I say to the pack doctor, but I turn to my parents, “Could you pick up some clothes for both Allie and me?” Also, some chocolate chip pancakes too?”
My mother was the first one to speak, “I will go and get everything for you and Allie,” she said and turned to the pack doctor, who looked like he wanted to have a nervous breakdown or something, “I can fill in the forms for Blake to get discharged.”
The pack doctor doesn’t say anything but follows my mother out of the room, leaving my father and me with Allie.
I walk over to the bed and sit with Allie still clinging to me.
I’m supposed to protect Allie from everything, but how am I supposed to do that?
“Drake is asking Anya if she remembers where Elder Johson kept her,” I said as I turned to look at him, trying to change the atmosphere in the room. “He thinks he might be able to find some books about the whole power thing that Izzy and Allie got.”
My father stares at me.
After a few moments, he walked over to the chair in front of me and sat down.
He stares at Allie, who has settled, but she was asleep once again.
“Do you think she has the same power as Izzy?” he asks.
I watch him.
I know my father was all about Izzy’s power initially, but I hope he has changed that tune, or I will be challenging him for the title of Alpha sooner if he thinks he can take control of Allie.
“I don’t know,” I said.
Noticing the tone in my voice, my father looks at me.
“I didn’t mean anything by it,” he said.
He sighs, “I think I will send some guards with Drake and Anya to help search for the house and retrieve the books,” he says.
I nodded.
His expression goes blank as he mind links.
After a few moments, he stares back at me.
“What are we going to do about Drake and his mate?” he asks.
“Drake came to see me this morning,” I said to him, “He wants help with the Red Moon pack, but I have an idea which might help him and everyone else too, especially as we have to help one another and get back to some sort of normality.”
My father leans back in the chair and smirks, “You sound like an alpha already,” he says, “When do you want to take over from me?”
I look back at him surprised; I never thought about it.
But something clicks in my head, “I want to do it when Izzy wakes up and is fit and well. I want us to have an Alpha and Luna ceremony together,” I tell him.
My father’s smirk goes wider, “I think that is an awesome idea,” he says but glances at Allie.
“Dad,” I say to him through mind link. I didn’t want Allie to hear me. “I want to adopt Allie as my own. Can you get a lawyer here to deal with the paperwork for me so I can get it all ready for Izzy.”
My father smiles at me and nods but says through mind link, “I will arrange it all; I can’t wait to have her officially be my granddaughter.”
“She will have a chance to be alpha of the pack, but she could pass it onto the next sibling,” I say to him.
My father smirks, “You planning on having more,” he asks.
I can’t help but smirk.
My father shuts down the mind link and leans back.
We have a conversation about a few items on the agenda. He informed me that I had to meet with Tilly to discuss the next step and what we would want from the elders in the near future.
I know exactly what I want from them, but I need to ensure we are all on the same wavelength.
My mother and the pack doctor came in with clothes and food for Allie and me. The doctor informed me that all the paperwork was completed for me to leave the hospital.
Allie woke up a few moments later, had some pancakes, and even got dressed.
We were all ready to leave.
My father turns to me, “Both of you can see Izzy now,” he says as he looks at Allie in my arms.
Allie smiles at him.
We all leave and head towards Izzy’s room, with my father leading the way.
We came to a room on its own.
As I stood in front of the room, my father turned to me, “Your mother and I will wait here for you to come out,” he said.
I nod, but I don’t look at him.
I open the door and head inside.
Allie’s grip on my neck tightens as we walk in; the door closes.
I freeze to the spot, and I hear Allie gasp at the sight before her.
Izzy was lying in a hospital bed with blankets and monitors around her. There were wires everywhere all over her, and some were plugged into machines.
“Allie,” I say quietly to her, “Mummy is okay; she needs all this to help her heal.”
Allie nods, but she sighs, “Can we sit with her?” she asks.
I didn’t say anything but walked towards the chair right by her bed.
I sit down with Allie sitting on my lap.
We both placed our hands on Izzy’s.
I looked at her face. It was pale, and she was cold to the touch.
Axel is close but stares through my eyes.
I can feel his heartache for our mate run through him.
There were no words said as we sat there holding Izzy’s hand.
All I could do was send a prayer to the moon goddess to bring her back to me, to Allie.
We needed her back.
