Liam Hayes was exactly as he appeared in his professional photos: sharp-eyed, with an air of focused intensity. But when he shook her hand, his grip was firm, his gaze direct and assessing, not predatory.

"Ivy," he said, dispensing with pleasantries. "Your emails were impressive. And troubling."

They sat. Ivy didn't waste time. "I'm not surprised," he said quietly when she finished. "Caleb and I… we started our first fund together. Our partnership ended because I believed in building companies, and he believed in building his own empire, regardless of the collateral damage." He leaned forward, his elbows on his knees. "What he's doing to you isn't just personal. It's bad business. It's stifling real innovation for short-sighted control."

"I'm not here asking for a rescue," Ivy stated, her chin held high. "I'm here to propose an alliance. I can save 'Athena.' I can prove its value. But I can't do it while fighting my own company and my… husband."

We have a small, brilliant team you can collaborate with, in absolute secrecy. Our legal team can advise on how to protect your intellectual property. But this," he gestured between them, "this fight, the choice to see it through—that's on you. I'm not investing in a project, Ivy. I'm investing in a person. The one who wrote those emails and had the courage to sit here today."
