The Fearless Chapter 12
[Holy shit, one S-rank item is already enough to dominate normal dungeons, and this Maya got four or five? She's fucking cheating!]
[Max-level boss raiding the newbie village?]
[That guy who said she'd die in three seconds can livestream eating shit now.]
Other players in the livestream were stunned. They'd never seen demons voluntarily gifting items. Their worldviews were shattered.
If not for dungeon rules restricting them, I felt like these three bosses would flatten the entire apartment for me without me lifting a finger.
After saying goodbye to the Nine-Eyed Reaper, Ghost Granny, and the Ghost Child, I left the eighteenth floor and headed to the seventeenth.
"Human... fresh human... delicious..."
The seventeenth floor housed a Starving Ghost, skeletal and emaciated but with a grotesquely huge belly. I could vaguely see human head outlines—some unlucky player got swallowed alive.
The Starving Ghost lunged at me.
SMACK—
The coffin lid slapped him away. Then the Ghost Eye on my forehead opened. The Starving Ghost fell into illusions and curses, letting out shrill screams.
I pulled the trigger. Two ghost fire shots sent it to real hell.
Then I speedran through the entire apartment!
"Ding! You've collected 18 points and obtained the clearance key. Go to the plaza's Hell's Gate to return to the real world."
"Current Surviving Players: 3."
I received the system notification and headed to the plaza outside the apartment.
A black door stood there, connecting reality and the horror world.
Whoosh—
Just then, two black shadows attacked from left and right.
On the left was a middle-aged woman dressed as a nun, throwing a golden glowing talisman that immobilized my body.
On the right was a tall man swinging a butcher's knife down toward my skull.
They were the two master players in this dungeon—Derek Stone and Sister Crimson.
CLANG CLANG—
My shield deflected Derek's butcher knife. The burial shroud on my body melted the talisman, easily blocking both attacks.
"S-rank items and above... You have so many! Hahahaha! We're rich!"
Derek and Sister Crimson weren't angry—they were delighted, their faces showing uncontrollable greed and desire.
They weren't benevolent veterans at all. They'd known some rules about Hell's Apartment in advance. Pretending to kindly help rookies, they'd actually just used them as shields.
They didn't dare risk the high floors, so after the system released the hidden quest, they teamed up to murder other players checking in, stealing their point cards.
Killing demons was hard. Killing people was easy!
