The Fearless Chapter 7
Speak of the devil.
Creeeeak~
The sealed door and windows were blown open by a dark wind.
A hunched, small figure slowly climbed up from the windowsill. Looking closer, it was an old woman covered in corpse spots.
The old woman wore a colorful burial shroud, completely soaked, especially her hair—dripping wet, almost dragging on the floor.
"Dear child, can you help Granny up?"
Ghost Granny's body was half-stuck outside the window. She seemed exhausted, unable to climb in, and made a request of me.
"Sure, sure!"
I quickly walked to the window, grabbed Ghost Granny's arm, put my shoulder into it, and threw her over my shoulder, slamming her hard onto the living room floor.
"Old la—I mean, Granny, you okay?"
"I'm not okay, but you are dead!"
Ghost Granny's hair grew wildly like seaweed, writhing toward me.
I'd violated Ghost Granny's second taboo and triggered an attack!
Snip snip snip—
"Granny, your hair's so long and thin, you're practically bald. Let me give you a buzz cut. It'll make your hair look way thicker!"
Strand after strand of wet hair was cut by the scissors in my hand.
Before long, Ghost Granny's head was nearly bald. She stared at me in shock, completely dumbfounded.
"Dear child, Granny's legs aren't good. Can you help Granny to the bedroom?"
Ghost Granny suppressed her rage, stumbling toward me.
"Sure, sure. Leave it to me."
I supported Ghost Granny. Her hand was cold as ice. The moment we touched, she grabbed my wrist with tremendous force, dragging me toward the bedroom.
Ghost Granny's bedroom was pitch black, containing only a soaking wet wooden coffin.
"Come, sleep with Granny for a while."
Ghost Granny pulled me toward the coffin, as if dragging me into an abyss.
"HUSBAND! GET OUT HERE!"
I suddenly roared, startling Ghost Granny and alerting the Nine-Eyed Reaper standing at the door.
"Woman, are you talking to me?"
The Nine-Eyed Reaper seemed like no one had ever yelled at him before. His face twisted grotesquely.
"I'm talking to YOU!"
"Look at this! Granny's elderly, and her room doesn't even have a bed—just a coffin! How's she supposed to sleep?"
"And Granny's clothes are completely soaked. How come you never thought to get her new clothes?"
"Ugh, unlike you, I actually care about Granny~"
While scolding the Nine-Eyed Reaper, I forcibly stripped off Ghost Granny's burial shroud.
[Item: Ghost Burial Shroud]
[Rank: S]
[Info: Wearing it grants immunity to physical and mental attacks.]
Good stuff!
"Burial shrouds are bad luck. I'll keep this for safekeeping. Tonight you sleep with Luna. Stop sleeping in coffins from now on. You're too old for trendy stuff like that."
Without giving her a choice, I shoved Ghost Granny into the Ghost Child's bedroom.
Ghost Granny seemed about to resist, but after glancing at the Nine-Eyed Reaper, she ultimately gave up struggling.
"Hubby, let's go to bed~"
After sending Ghost Granny away, I took the Nine-Eyed Reaper's hand and cheerfully headed to the bedroom.
