The Forgotten Necklace of the Moon Goddess Chapter 6
When I ordered the urn, the owner asked for an emergency contact since I was buying it for myself.
I thought about it for a long time. I realized that after being banished, I had no friends. No family.
Everyone was terrified of Killian’s Alpha authority.
So, in the end, he was the only option.
I left his number, a tiny spark of hope flickering in my heart.
If one day he found out I was dead, would he be sad?
Would he reflect on the past? Would he investigate the truth?
In his silent office, Killian looked up from a stack of documents, frowning.
"What urn?"
The owner laughed incredulously on the other end.
"I saw you on the news. The Alpha Summit, right? You're loaded. And you won't pay five hundred bucks for your sister?"
"I'm giving you one day. If you don't pay—"
Killian hung up, his face black as thunder.
"Scammers are getting bold these days."
He muttered a curse and tried to get back to work.
But something nagged at him. He awkwardly picked up his phone and opened our chat.
[What kind of trouble are you in now? Scammers are calling me about you.]
He placed the phone face down on the desk.
He signed contracts, his ears pricked for a notification sound.
Thirty minutes passed. Silence.
His expression grew colder. He picked up the phone and typed furiously.
[Nora, I'm warning you. Stop causing scenes. I paid off your loan sharks before, but since we are cut off, don't try to get my attention with these stunts.]
I was surprised.
I had borrowed from sharks for my chemo. When I couldn't pay, they harassed me daily.
Then, one day, the calls just stopped.
I thought they were afraid of the Blackwood name.
It turns out... Killian paid them?
When I didn't reply, he called me.
The ringtone played out, but no one answered.
His assistant walked in with coffee. Killian asked sharply:
"Where is Nora? What job did she get this time? She's not answering her phone."
The assistant froze, looking nervous.
"Alpha, we... we lost track of Miss Nora. She seems to be hiding. The trackers can't pick up her scent."
"She's grown wings, has she?"
Killian threw his phone across the room.
The assistant scrambled to pick it up.
"Please don't be angry, Alpha. Give me some time. We always find her. She can't disappear."
Killian glared at him. "Hurry up."
The assistant wiped sweat from his forehead and forced a smile.
"You really care about her, beneath it all. If you're so worried, why not just talk to her?"
"These past years haven't been easy for her, or for you. Is this really worth it?"
Killian’s face dropped, his voice icy.
"She made the mistake. She should be the one crawling back to explain. Why should I initiate?"
"I just didn't expect her to be this stubborn. Five years, and she still won't fold."
"I even adopted Sienna into the family tree just to pressure her, and she still won't come home. Now she's hiding!"
He rubbed his temples, frustrated.
Then he remembered something and tossed the phone back to the assistant.
"Check that number that called earlier. Something about selling an urn."
"I assume Nora borrowed money again. Just handle it."
That evening, at home, Killian was working on his phone while glancing at the TV.
He controlled a commercial empire; the evening news was part of his routine.
Sienna was in the kitchen, cooking.
Suddenly, a jarring announcement came from the TV:
"Breaking News: Police have recovered a female body from the River Valley District today. Authorities are urgently seeking next of kin."
"The coroner has preliminarily ruled it a suicide. The deceased bears no pack markings, suspected to be a Rogue. Anyone with information, please contact the station immediately."
Killian looked up sharply. His piercing gaze fixed on the screen.
