"Back then, to save me, you ended up in the hospital with serious injuries," Liam said. "You were in a coma for days, and the first thing you did when you woke up was check on me."

He wore a nostalgic look, like he was lost in some happy memory.

Tracy glanced at him flatly. The corner of her mouth twitched. "Yeah, I almost died saving you. But the first thing you did when you saw me was slap me across the face," she replied.

Liam's expression froze.

Tracy's eyes were full of contempt. She had no patience for his nonsense. She pulled out the contract she'd prepared. "This is the share transfer agreement. Since you claim you want to give them all away, I don't want you changing your mind later.

"So I'll buy them at the current market price. Take a look, and if it's fine, sign it."

Her tone was cold, all business.

Liam felt like a needle had stabbed his heart.

"Tracy, I ... " he started.

Just then, the roar of car engines cut him off.

Moments later, three or four black sedans appeared. Out jumped a dozen men armed with knives, metal bars, and ropes.

Liam didn't grasp what was happening yet. Tracy's bodyguards immediately shielded her and secretly called for backup.

Tracy spotted the man at the front right away. It was that "teacher" from the Angelic Etiquette Academy.

Liam recognized him too.

Seeing their aggressive approach, he felt a wave of unease. "Didn't you say you just wanted money?" he asked. "What are you doing now?!"

Hearing that, Tracy understood why Liam had suddenly asked her out.

She hadn't expected him to get mixed up with the Angelic Etiquette Academy.

The "teacher" ignored Liam completely. His dark gaze fixed on Tracy. "Getting to see you sure isn't easy," he said.

Tracy stayed totally calm. "We agreed to stay out of each other's way. You're the ones breaking the deal," she replied.

"Aren't you the one trying to break it?" he shot back with a cold snort. "Those recent troubles ... aren't you the one behind them?"

Tracy wouldn't admit a thing, of course. "I don't know what you're talking about," she said.

Without solid proof, she'd never confess. She'd stall as long as she could.

But the guy's ruthlessness caught her off guard.

"Whether it's you or not, you'll come with us and we'll find out," he said.

With that, he signaled his men to grab Tracy.

Liam had no idea what was going on. But panic hit him hard.

He'd really thought these guys just wanted money. That was why he'd helped lure Tracy out.

Now seeing this, he knew he'd been tricked. He rushed forward to stop them. "What are you trying to do?" he yelled.

Before he could finish, the man leading the group shoved him hard. He slammed into a nearby car.

Liam's back hit the car so hard it dented the door. Pain shot through him, making his vision blur. He nearly passed out.

It took him a while to regain his senses.

When he looked up, the unknown men were fighting Tracy's bodyguards. The scene was in total chaos.

In the middle of it, Tracy's guards protected her as she backed away. But her face showed no fear.

In Liam's mind, Tracy had always been a sheltered girl. Even after the misunderstandings and hardships these past years, she was still pampered at heart.

Facing a bloody mess like this, she should be screaming or crying. Not this calm.

It was like she'd seen violent chaos a hundred times before.

In a flash, Liam remembered the recent video of Andrew.

His proud, composed brother was reduced to pleading like a stray dog on the ground. He must have suffered horribly.
