It was the end of Kate's first semester of college. She and her roommate, Mallory, decided to skip their final classes on Friday. Instead, they drove to the coast to stay with Mallory's father for the weekend before their final exams week started on Monday. A wealthy older doctor, Mallory's father lived in a large, expensive beach house on a secluded stretch of pristine coastline. It was the perfect place to relax and recuperate before the grueling week they had ahead of them.

He wasn't home when they first arrived, so Kate and Mallory let themselves into his house and started to get ready for bed. It was late, and they were both exhausted from the drive. As Mallory unpacked her toiletries in the bathroom, Kate watched her set aside a small round foil packet. It was filled with a dozen tiny, individually packaged pills, along with several empty spaces where pills used to be. Kate picked up the foil packet and raised her eyebrows at Mallory.

“Is that what I think it is?!” she asked her.

“Well, it isn’t candy,” Mallory said with a teasing wink. “Your parents let you go on birth control?!”

Kate was failing to mask the excited envy in her voice.

"It was my dad's idea," replied Mallory matter-of-factly. "He wrote the prescription himself.”

“You’re kidding!” Kate swooned with jealousy. “My parents are so traditional. They don’t believe in birth control and would never let me go on it. You’re so lucky.”

“What do you mean they don’t believe in birth control?!” Mallory asked in a shocked tone. “That’s ridiculous, Kate! I suppose they expect you to wait until you get married to have sex then too??”

Kate sighed and nodded.

Mallory gasped dramatically. “Jesus Christ.” “Exactly,” Kate said, and they both laughed.

“Wow,” Mallory said, shaking her head. “I mean, you are nineteen, though, Kate. It’s not like you need your parents' permission to get on it. Just go to the doctor behind their backs! Sex is so much better without a condom. You're going to want to get some of these magic little pills asap!"

She grabbed the pill packet from Kate's hand and jiggled it enticingly in front of her face.

Kate loved Mallory for her frank, unapologetic attitude. She always managed to get straight to the point. Kate smiled at her but was secretly pondering what Mallory meant when she said sex was better without a condom. Mallory didn't know it, but Kate was still a virgin, so she had no idea what sex was like, with or without a condom.

It wasn't as though Kate had ever lied to Mallory about having had sex before. However, she had only met Mallory a few months earlier, and Mallory seemed to assume that no one started college still a virgin. It seemed easier to just let her believe that was true, especially since part of Kate worried deep down that it was true ... for everyone except for her.

“I know I don’t technically need my parents’ permission, Mal. But, I’m on their insurance plan, so there’s no way I can go see a doctor without

them finding out why I went. And, believe me, they would kill me if they found out.”

She gave Mallory a serious look to let her know that she wasn’t joking. Of course, Kate’s parents probably wouldn’t really murder their own child for taking birth control to have sex outside of marriage. But, then again, they were complete lunatics, so Kate wouldn’t necessarily put it past them. At the very least, she was sure they would disown her for being such a sinful little slut.

“Hmm,” said Mallory.

She was quiet for a moment. The perfect porcelain skin on her forehead crinkled contemplatively as she crossed her arms. Her large breasts squished together and were pushed up even higher on her chest than their usual perky position. Kate couldn't help but glance down at the smooth, round arcs of her sizeable cleavage.
