**Chapter 40: The short life of Lawrence Tillman (Part 3).**

The day Lawrence Tillman met Josie Taylor, he could feel his anticipation growing. After the meeting he had with Vanessa; he was anxious to find out what the big deal was about this girl that her own sister would go through such lengths just to destroy her.

After meeting with Vanessa, he’d spent the next few days constantly staring at her picture, obsessing over how *“innocent”* she looked. Tillman had worked as a CO for almost fifteen years, he’d seen and dealt with many young, middle aged, and even older women from various walks of life….HOWEVER, never was he given the pleasure of meeting an heiress.

Young rich girls typically had parents that would pull strings to keep them out of prison; and as long as their crimes didn’t consist of murder, their mommies and daddies could grease the wheels. Tillman hated this more than anything; watching these high and mighty heiresses look down on people like him made him think about his sisters. He’d told himself, if he ever was given the chance, he’d make sure at least one of those uppity bitches paid!

Thanks to Vanessa Taylor….that chance was coming soon.

The morning before Josie arrived at the prison, the warden called Tillman into her office.

*“Tillman, you’ll be getting a new inmate on your cellblock tomorrow morning. A Ms. Josie Taylor.”*

The warden slid her file over to Tillman not knowing he was already aware. Feigning ignorance, Tillman picked up the file.

*“Oh yeah? What’s she in for?”*

*“Vehicular homicide. Hit a young mother in a DUI crash. Terrible.”*

Tillman glanced slightly at the warden, for a brief moment, he actually felt sorry for the girl; for he knew the truth. She wasn’t the one that killed that lady….her sister was the real culprit.

The warden watched Tillman as he scanned over the file; her eyes following his. For the past few years, she’d heard *“rumors”* regarding Tillman and possible cruelty with some of the inmates. She’d tried multiple times to find out the truth, however, the inmates were reluctant to talk, and Tillman must’ve had someone of high status in his corner.

*“Listen Tillman…she’s apart of House Taylor….their daughter to be exact.”*

Tillman’s eyes widen as he looked at the warden.

*“I’m pretty sure the only reason she’s here is because that young woman died. Otherwise, she would have been shipped to one of those cushy ‘rehabilitation resorts.’ Still, her family has deep pockets and deep connections….make sure she’s safe.”*

Tillman smiled with inner smugness, the warden wasn’t aware that in just a few days, her family would be cutting ties with her. Not wanting to give anything away, he smiled and nodded in agreement.

*“You can count on me ma’am. I’ll be sure to keep a special eye on her.”*

As Tillman left the office, the warden had a dark feeling in the pits of her stomach. She wasn’t sure what was going on; but something told her this girl was going to bring trouble.

The day Josie arrived, after reception provided her with her care package; Tillman was the first to greet her. He could hardly believe his eyes when he saw her. The young woman was stunning! Beautiful caramel skin, long thick hair, and eyes that could literally melt an ice cap. Tillman found himself lusting over her in ways he’d never before with any other woman. With a devilish grin, Tillman walked over to the frightened girl.

*“Ms. Josie Taylor, I’m CO Tillman. Welcome to BWCF; if you need anything or if you’re experiencing any trouble, please don’t hesitate to speak with me.”*

Josie looked at Tillman with the most trusting eyes; for a brief moment, it made him feel guilty. She wasn’t aware that everything he’d just said to her was a complete and total lie. Josie nodded with a slightly nervous smile; her voice low and meek.

*“T-Thank you Officer Tillman.”*

After that, Josie’s first night on the block was met by violence courtesy of her fellow cellmates. Tillman had already promised them commissary if they roughed her up. The beating was so bad she ended up in the infirmary that same night. Two days later, she would learned her family disowned her. Tillman watched her face change from sadness to despair as she watched her father disassociate the entire family from her.

*‘Damn….so that Vanessa girl was right.’*

He thought to himself as he watched the tears stream down her face. For a moment; Tillman actually felt bad. At first, he thought he would enjoy humbling some uppity heiress, but Josie wasn’t like that. There was nothing arrogant about this girl, unlike her sister. For a brief moment…he’d even contemplated calling the whole torture thing off. That was until he received a text message from Vanessa.

***\[Hello Officer Tillman. This is Vanessa Taylor. I trust my sister has been settled in and given a ‘proper’ welcoming?\]***

Tillman could practically smell the arrogance and excitement from the text. This girl was actually enjoying the idea of her sister being tortured…..sick.

***……………..***

***\[Hello Ms. Taylor, indeed, she has. She was sent to the infirmary her first night.\]***

**…………….**

***\[Wonderful!!! Keep up the good work! And Tillman….please remember something….I have a way of knowing when people are lying to me. I want my sister’s four years here to be filled with nothing but despair. Keep in mind, you’ll never know when I may decide to pay her a visit…..don’t disappoint me 😊\]***

A chill ran down Tillman’s spine as he read that final text. So the message was clear; Vanessa must’ve had eyes somewhere in here. Oh, well….guess that’s that. He would have a job to do; besides, she meant nothing to him….no time to get sentimental now. All the women here had some type of “backstory”, and he’d enjoyed himself just fine with them. Why should she be any different.

Over those past four years, Tillman made sure to hold up his end of the bargain. The first time he assaulted Josie; he would never forget her face. The terror in her eyes, as she realized he in fact wasn’t there to help her but to cause her more pain. He remembered wondering that night as he went home why her eyes bothered him so much. How her trust slowly depleted with each horrific thrust. Why did that bother him so much? After a while however, his conscious slowly dwindled. Abusing Josie became his daily delight, in a strange way….he looked forward to spending *“time”* with her. She’d long since lost her will to fight so he no longer had to worry about her struggling.

The day she left, he’d found himself actually missing her. It didn’t dawn on him until after she was gone, why he’d felt so drawn to Josie…..she reminded him of himself. Being in a family that actually hated you while they loved the other children; they were birds of the same feather. There was a part of him that loathed himself for assisting in her demise. For destroying the trust that was once in her eyes. It didn’t matter, she was gone and he’d never have to deal with her or her despicable family again. Or so he thought, for not even a week after she was released, her pain in the ass sister would call him panicking because her brother was now looking into the abuse!
