Goddess Of The Underworld. Chapter 59
After bidding goodbye to my brothers and making sure Tommy and Aleisha had things handled in the pack, we head back to the underworld together, teleporting right into the grand hall. It’s not even a minute later that Silas comes bursting through the doors.
“My Queen, my Kings!” He bows deeply.
“Silas, what’s up?”
“There are groups of the forgotten outside the castle. They say they won’t leave until they speak with you.”
I figured this would happen, although I did think it would take a little longer but I guess time moves quicker here than back in the mortal realm.
“Very well, send them in.” I take a seat on one of the now five thrones at the back of the hall and my mates follow suit.
“The forgotten? These are the creatures out there, right?” Xavier questions.
“Yup, and I can only assume they want what the other group got. A better chance to survive.”
“Are you going to give it to them? All of them?” Noah asks and I shrug my shoulders.
“I guess it all depends on their attitude. They were all sent here for sent here for a reason, but they have also served their punishments.”
“That doesn’t mean they’re deserving though. Some creatures will always have rotten souls.” Levi muses and I get where he’s coming from.
“You’re right, but they deserve a chance. So, we give them one and if they fuck it up then they can serve another punishment period.”
My mates all nod together just as the doors are opened again and Silas leads a large group of different creatures inside. Most bowing as they enter and remaining on their knees while one male stays standing. I lock eyes with him, raising an eyebrow.
“My Kings. I’ve come here with the knowledge that one group of the forgotten have received gifts that the rest of us have not. It is unfair, unjust and frankly wrong.” He spits out.
Haiden stands from his chair beside me. “I think you forgot where your knees are supposed to be.” The man pales slightly, bowing his head and lowering himself to the floor before looking back up defiantly.
Levi stands next from his chair beside Haiden’s.
“These gifts you speak of were things given by your queen. One of whom you’ve forgotten to address appropriately.” He growls and the mans eyes flicker to me with somewhat disgust.
“My apologies, my Kings.” He says but still does not address me. It’s comical really.
“What is your name?” Xaiver asks as Haiden and Levi take their seats once more.
“Geoff Sparasci. My King.” Xavier pulls out his tablet and types in his name while humming in thought.
“Geoff Sparasci, you lived in the mortal realm over three thousand years ago. A fae warrior who died by poison. Your sins include murder, torture, adultery, theft, oh and look at that, you also sold your wife and daughter to pay off your debts. You’ve served two thousand, five hundred years of punishment before being released to the forgotten.”
Geoff doesn’t speak. He simply grinds his teeth while narrowing his eyes.
“I believe that you may not have learnt your lesson, but let’s test that theory, shall we? Brother.” Xavier looks to Levi who nods, and portals directly in front of Geoff who stumbles backwards on his knees. Levi raises his hand above his head for a moment before rejoining us. “I don’t believe he has learnt his lesson. Noah, would you mind escorting him back to the basement?” Noah quickly portals a screaming Geoff away before returning to his seat and all four of my mates turn to look at me. I stand, brushing off my robe and removing my hood before addressing the crowd.
“Creatures of the forgotten. Times are changing, and you can either bask in the rewards, wither away in torture, or let your souls be destroyed and turned into nothing. I would like to offer everyone who is worthy, a better chance of survival. The underworld will always be punishment for your sins, it will never be the great beyond, and you may not ever leave here, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t repent and learn from your mistakes. That does not mean that you have to suffer endlessly. I will do for you the same that I did for the others. You will have homes secure from the elements with a proper bed, fresh water, livestock and some tools. Each group will appoint two leaders that will report to me weekly with any issues or requests and if at any time these leaders abuse their power, any member of the group may come to me to report it. The punishment for wrong doings will be brought before Your Kings and I and we will happily decide if you need to return for another punishment period. Does this sound fair?”
I wait a moment as heads slowly start to look up and around between themselves but only one daring to speak.
“Yes my Queen. Please, we are not all like Geoff, some of us came to beg for just small things. Souls have been dying out there slowly over time. We simply wish to exist.” A small female says and I walk to her, gesturing for her to stand.
“Your name?”
“Anya Moretti. I was a witch in the mortal realm, sent here for using black magic.”
“Do you have others in your group here with you?”
“A few, yes. Most of the groups gathered a few to travel here while the rest stayed behind to mind our camps, My Queen.”
“Perfect. Okay. Here’s what we’re going to do. I want everyone to appoint your two leaders and line up behind them. We will travel with you to your camps, make the necessary changes and you will report back to us in a week’s time.”
While everyone splits themselves and begins talking amongst their groups about who shall lead, I take a moment to talk with my mates.
“That was so hot.” Haiden whispers and I slap his arm.
“We need each group labelled with a number, put each creature in the camp into a certain group on the tablets and make sure to mark down the leaders. They get just the bare necessities until they can prove themselves to us.”
We split off and begin opening portals to different groups, each of us escorting two different groups at a time so no one is left behind and we get to work, building our Kingdom to be better.
