Rise of the Banished She-Wolf Chapter 158
Devon
My knuckles whitened as I gripped the steering wheel, eyes flicking to the rearview mirror every few seconds. The black sedan had been following us since we left the hospital, maintaining a careful distance—not too close, not too far. Just enough to keep us in sight.
"So, what kind of dress are you thinking of wearing tonight?" I asked, keeping my voice deliberately casual despite the tension in my jaw.
Evelyn glanced at her phone, seemingly waiting for a text. "I don't know. You can help me choose. I trust your taste."
I nodded, making a mental note of the license plate in the mirror. No need to worry her yet. The car had been maintaining its distance, showing no signs of aggression. Still, my wolf was on high alert, protective instincts in overdrive.
As we turned onto the private drive leading to Hall Mansion, the black sedan lingered at the entrance for a few seconds before driving away. I watched it disappear around the corner, my suspicion confirmed.
"Home sweet home," Evelyn said with a smile, finally looking up from her phone.
I forced a smile, but my mind was already racing with security protocols.

The moment we entered the mansion, I headed straight for my study. Jason was already waiting, tablet in hand.
"What did you find?" I asked, closing the door behind me.
Jason tapped the screen, bringing up an image of the black sedan. "The car is registered to Redwood Industries. Looks like they're back in town."
My brow furrowed. "What the hell do they want now?"
I pulled out my phone and dialed Edward's number. After three rings, his familiar accent came through the speaker.
"Well, if it isn't the mighty Alpha. What can I do for you today?"
"I need Moonlight's assistance," I replied, pacing the length of my study.
"What, your date got interrupted?" Edward's tone was light, but I could hear the shift to seriousness underneath.
"The Redwoods are back." I lowered my voice, glancing at the closed door. "They've been tracking Evelyn. We're having dinner with Shawn tonight."
"I'll have my people monitor the Redwoods' movements. We'll make sure you're covered during dinner." Edward said firmly before hanging up.
I then pushed open the bedroom door, ready to change for dinner, but froze at the threshold.
Evelyn was standing in front of the full-length mirror, totally naked, her skin catching the warm glow from the setting sun. She had two dresses held up against her, tilting her head as she tried to decide between them.
Her back curved just right, smooth and inviting, dipping down to her hips that had this natural sway when she moved a little. Her breasts looked soft and full, nipples perking up in the cooler air, and her stomach was flat, leading to that spot between her legs that made my mind wander. Her legs went on forever, strong and smooth—damn, she just looked amazing, like she was made for this light.
My breath hitched, and my heart started racing as I kept staring. Deep inside, my wolf side woke up, growling low and restless, pushing me to get closer and make her mine. Heat rushed through me, my muscles tightening, and I felt my dick stirred and grew hard, an insistent throb that made it impossible to stay still.

Hearing the door open, I turned and caught Devon's gaze—those dark, hungry eyes locked on me like I was the only thing in the world.
My heart skipped a beat when I noticed the obvious bulge straining against his pants. A mischievous spark ignited in my chest—why not tease him a bit? Make him squirm before I let him have me.
I smiled at him, completely at ease in my nakedness, and rose to my tiptoes, padding across the room toward him with an extra sway in my hips to draw his eyes lower.
"Thank you for all these dresses in the closet," I said, pressing a light kiss to the corner of his mouth, letting my bare breasts brush against his chest just enough to feel his heartbeat quicken. "But I'm stuck deciding what to wear."
Devon's hands moved of their own accord, caressing the smooth skin of my back. "The clothes are just accessories," he said, his voice rough with desire. "You're irreplaceable regardless."
I took his hand and led him to the bench at my vanity. "Then help me choose."
I began trying on different dresses, each one highlighting a different aspect of my beauty. The deep blue silk emphasized my elegant neck, clinging to my bare skin and making my nipples peek through the thin fabric. The black backless gown showcased the delicate curve of my spine, the fabric dipping daringly low to skim the top of my hips.
With each outfit, Devon's eyes grew darker, his breathing more ragged. "You're breathtaking in everything," he said, his gaze never leaving me.
When I slipped into a silver form-fitting dress that clung to every curve, hugging my breasts and hips like a second skin, I could feel the heat building between my legs, my body already responding to his stare. Devon couldn't restrain himself any longer. He stood abruptly, pushing me gently back onto the bed.
"Devon..." His name was a soft gasp on my lips, my eyes reflecting the same hunger that consumed him, my core aching with need.
"We have time," he murmured, his lips trailing down my neck to my collarbone, nipping lightly at the sensitive spot that made me arch and moan.
He carefully removed the silver dress, his hands reverent against my skin, thumbs brushing over my hardened nipples, sending jolts straight to my wet center. I threaded my fingers through his hair, my body arching into his touch, my thighs parting instinctively as his hand slid lower, fingers teasing the slick heat between my legs.
"You're mine," Devon whispered against my ear, the words both a promise and a claim. "Always mine."
Our bodies moved together in perfect harmony, his thrusts deep and steady, filling me completely as I wrapped my legs around him, my nails digging into his back while waves of pleasure built and crashed over me. The world outside faded away until only our heartbeats, shared breaths, and the wet sounds of our connection remained.
Afterward, we lay tangled in the sheets, my head resting on Devon's chest, listening to his steady heartbeat, my body still tingling from the aftershocks.
"We might be late," I said with a soft laugh, tracing lazy circles on his chest.
Devon kissed the top of my head. "Let them wait. This was more important than any dinner."
"What happened to 'we have time'?" I teased, playfully nipping at his jaw.
"For loving you, there's never enough time," Devon replied, rolling over to pin me beneath him once more. "Should we just cancel?"
I pushed against his chest with a laugh. "No way. This is your chance to make peace with Shawn."
Devon sighed dramatically but released me, allowing me to sit up.
As we dressed, Devon said, "Before we go, there's something you need to know. I've arranged for security stationing outside the restaurant. Edward's people will handle internal security."
I paused in the middle of applying my makeup. "What's going on?"
Devon hesitated, then said, "We were being followed back there. It was one of the Redwood family's cars."
"I knew someone was following us," I admitted, setting down my lipstick. "I just didn't know it was them. They're back."
Devon moved behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and meeting my eyes in the mirror. "Leave it to me. I'll keep you safe."
He held my gaze in the reflection. "No matter what happens, I won't let anyone hurt you."
I turned in his arms to face him, rising on my toes to kiss him softly. "I know, my Alpha."
"Now, help me with this zipper," I said, turning to present my back to him.
Devon's fingers traced the line of my spine before slowly pulling the zipper up, his touch lingering on the curve of my ass. "You look so beautiful tonight, I'm tempted to hide you away from the world."
He leaned down, his lips brushing against my ear. "But I'd rather everyone knows you're mine." His voice was full of possessiveness and love, a primal claim wrapped in tenderness.
