The Godfather's Love Buried in Snow Chapter 5

Three days later, I saw the familiar black armored SUV at the academy gates.

Dante stood by the car in a black suit. His eyes were bloodshot. He had clearly taken a private jet overnight.

"Elena."

He stepped forward quickly, trying to grab my wrist.

I dodged. His hand froze in mid-air, his fingertips still smelling of gunpowder.

"What do you want?"

My tone was flat, like talking to a stranger.

He pulled the bullet pendant from his pocket and held it out to me. His fingers trembled slightly.

"I know I was wrong, Elena. I'm handling Bianca. I've handed her over to the family's internal court for embezzling Rossi funds and forging weapon inspection reports. Come back. Let's start over, okay?"

"Start over?"

I chuckled. My finger traced the diagram of a gun in my notebook.

"Dante, my back won't allow me to fight anymore. Every time I pull a trigger, the recoil risks paralyzing me."

"Does your 'start over' mean I become a trophy wife who relies on you? Or is it that you just can't bear to lose the Ferrari supply lines?"

His face went pale.

"No, I really..."

"Really what?"

I cut him off. "Really remembered my value after losing me? Or really afraid that without the Ferrari connection, the Rossi family will be kicked off the Committee?"

He opened his mouth but couldn't speak.

I turned to leave. "I'll have the lawyers push the divorce. If you keep harassing me, wait until the Ferrari and Rossi families tear each other apart. The whole Mafia Commission will enjoy the show."

Dante rushed up and grabbed my arm.

"I know Bianca forged the reports! She stole thirty million dollars! I sent her to federal prison! She got ten years! I found the surveillance from the kennel. I know I was wrong!"

He shoved his phone in my face.

On the screen, a video played of Bianca crying and confessing in court. Then, the footage from the kennel.
