He clutched the half-pendant, thumb rubbing the deformed "Rossi" engraving.

Then, Donna Rosa called.

"The Ferrari family has allied with the Golden Triangle! They cut all ties with us! And Bianca is talking to the press, saying you're divorcing Elena for her!"

"Have PR issue a statement," he rasped.

"State that Bianca Miller and I were only business partners. She is being prosecuted by the family court for fraud. It has nothing to do with me."

That day, Bianca's bail was revoked, and she was officially taken into custody.

Dante took the half-pendant and flew back to Switzerland.

This time, he didn't approach me directly. He entered the Arms Expo as a guest lecturer.

He stood on the podium in a sharp suit, talking about the Southeast Asian market layout. But his eyes kept drifting to me in the front row.

I took notes, occasionally exchanging glances with Julian.

After the training, he blocked me in the corridor. He opened his palm. The deformed piece of metal lay there.

"Elena, I found it. Look..."

"Mr. Rossi."

I interrupted him, my voice distant. "The training was useful. Thank you. If there's nothing else, I have to meet Julian."

His hand froze in mid-air. The hope on his face shattered.

"Do you hate me that much? You won't even give me a chance to explain?"

"I don't hate you."

I looked him in the eye. "Hate requires emotion. I feel nothing for you. Everything you're doing now isn't to win me back. It's to assuage your own guilt."

His face went white.

"Keep the scrap metal."

I turned to leave.

"My lawyer has submitted the papers to the court. If you refuse to sign, we go to arbitration with the International Arms Guild. Rossi's reputation will be ruined."

I walked away without looking back.
