The color drained from Lucas's face in an instant. He just kept saying sorry, over and over again.

He said, "She looks too much like you. I couldn't help paying attention to her. You're so steady now, always thinking about business. You don't rely on me like you used to..."

But it was him who demanded I become independent! It was him who told me to act like a qualified Luna!

I never liked arguing. I just smiled and said, "If you really feel sorry for me, then give me more of the assets."

I couldn't keep the Alpha I had trained, but I wasn't going to lose the profits.

Otherwise, all those years of suffering would have been for nothing.

I knew very well that he felt guilty right now. It was the best time to get what I wanted.

If I waited until he was completely blinded by that so-called "new love," I would end up with nothing—no man and no money.

Lucas's voice was hoarse. "Is your mind made up?"

"Yes."

Lucas’s lips moved, but seeing my cold expression, he finally just nodded. "Unblock my number. It will be easier to communicate about the transfer."

"Okay."

I nodded, and suddenly, there was a burst of applause behind me, followed by an excited cheer.

"Good! That was awesome!"

Hearing that familiar voice, the corner of my mouth twitched.

I turned around to see Arthur standing there.

He was the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack and a giant in the gaming industry. He was drop-dead gorgeous with a powerful build, radiating immense strength. But personality-wise? He was rough around the edges and a bit goofy.

He reminded me of an overly enthusiastic Husky.

Honestly, he probably secured his Alpha position purely through his powerful bloodline and dumb luck.

Every time I saw him, I felt like I was looking at a large dog.

Hearing the applause, Lucas's face turned black. A low growl rolled in his throat.

But Arthur had zero ability to read the room. He chuckled happily. "Thanks, brother. If you hadn't been a stupid cheater, I wouldn't have had a chance!"

He shoved Lucas aside with his hip, completely lacking dignity, and leaned in close to me. His eyes were sparkling, as if he had just seen the moon.

"Miss Ayla, I invited you to my territory so many times, and you always refused, saying your mate didn't like you working away from home. Now that you’re single, will you consider coming to be my second-in-command?"

Whether I worked for my own pack or another pack, Lucas was never happy about it.

In our own pack, I was too strong and threatened his Alpha prestige.

In other packs, he said my ability would make me a core member, meaning I’d be too busy. If we were both busy, we’d never see each other.

So, even though many large packs invited me, I refused them all.

Now that we were broken up, I didn't need to consider Lucas's feelings anymore.

I said, "I'll think about it."

"Alright!"

Arthur's eyes got even brighter. A six-foot-three handsome man was suddenly acting like a henchman waiting for orders.

He abandoned his luxury car just to be my driver, deliberately blocking Lucas from getting anywhere near the car door.

On the way, Arthur kept brainwashing me and showering me with compliments.

"Miss Ayla, you're beautiful and smart. Do not forgive that male wolf who betrayed his oath! With your qualities, who couldn't you get? I can introduce you to several excellent single Alphas. And hey, if you happen to like me, that would be the Blood Moon Pack’s blessing for eight generations!"

Chloe has a low laugh threshold. The whole ride, she was cackling beside me like a goose.

When I got home, I finally saw the message Lucas had sent.

None of your business.

When our relationship was good, Lucas was a jealous jar of vinegar. He was extremely territorial and needed to know about every male around me.

But now I realized, in our few conversations recently, he always mentioned Sienna.

Sienna likes sweets.

Sienna loves horror movies.

Because I had mentioned wanting to travel to Europe, he planned a whole itinerary, saying as soon as I recovered, he would take me. He said he hadn't accompanied me for the past ten years, and he was sorry.

But I knew very well that this was out of guilt, not love. We couldn't go back.

When Lucas showed up holding red roses again, I couldn't help but sigh. "You are an Alpha. The pack is busy. You don't need to keep coming. I'm just resting, it's nothing serious."
