Bonded to My Ex's Alpha Brother Chapter 211

Third POV

Alexander stared at his phone, his face a mask of barely controlled rage. Golden flecks flickered in his eyes as he tightened his grip on the device, threatening to crush it between his fingers. The stuttering voice on the other end made his jaw clench harder with each passing second.

"A-Alpha, I tried my best. I swear to you," his subordinate pleaded. "But Alpha Derek stepped in. He sent his own doctor and covered all the surgery costs for Elena Blackwood. The security around her hospital room is impenetrable—"

Alexander hung up abruptly, throwing the phone onto the plush leather couch. He paced the length of his luxurious penthouse apartment, hands clenched into fists at his sides. The panoramic windows that usually afforded him a sense of power now felt like a cage.

"How dare that man interfere with my plans?" he growled, his eyes fully golden now.

His Delta stood silently by the door, knowing better than to speak until addressed. The man's posture was rigid, eyes carefully averted from his Alpha's rage.

Alexander whirled to face him. "Tell me exactly what happened with Elena Blackwood."

The Delta swallowed nervously. "The dosage you administered to Erin's mother last night was working as planned, Alpha. Her heart was failing gradually—it would have looked natural. But somehow, Alpha Derek anticipated this. He changed doctors at the last minute, bringing in his personal physician."

"And you let this happen?" Alexander's voice dropped to a deadly whisper.

"We couldn't stop it. The moment Alpha Derek's men arrived, they locked down the entire floor. My source inside says he paid for everything—the surgery, the specialists."

Alexander's fist connected with the wall, leaving a sizeable dent in the expensive plaster. "That man... how does he always seem to be one step ahead?" His voice trembled with fury. "Find another way to kill that woman."

The Delta paled. "Alpha, with all due respect, that's impossible right now. Derek's enforcers are guarding her room around the clock. They'd recognize any of our people immediately."

Alexander's mind was racing, calculating his next move. His phone buzzed again, and he glanced at the screen.

[Erin Blackwood - 14 missed calls]

A slow, calculating smile spread across his face. "Perhaps we can still salvage this situation."

He picked up the phone and dialed Erin's number, smoothing his voice into something soft and concerned.

"Hello?" Erin answered almost immediately, her voice sharp with worry and anger. "Why haven't you been answering my calls? I've been trying to reach you for hours!"

Alexander modulated his tone perfectly, injecting just the right amount of pain and weakness. "I'm sorry, darling. I was sleeping... my wound has been causing me significant pain."

The lie flowed easily from his lips as he sat down on the edge of his designer sofa, loosening his tie as if preparing for a performance.

"Alex?" Erin's voice softened immediately, concern replacing anger. "Are you okay? I thought... I was worried when you didn't answer."

"I'm sorry for worrying you," he continued, maintaining his fabricated vulnerability. "What's happened? You sound upset."

There was a pause on the line, followed by a shaky breath. "It's my mom..."

Alexander straightened, feigning ignorance though satisfaction bloomed in his chest. "What about her? Is she sick?"

"She's in surgery right now," Erin's voice cracked. "Heart surgery. I'm sitting alone outside the operating room, waiting to find out if she's going to survive."

Alexander closed his eyes, savoring the moment. Everything was working according to plan, despite Derek's interference. Elena Blackwood was suffering, and Erin was vulnerable—exactly as he wanted.

"That's terrible," he said, infusing his voice with manufactured sympathy. "I'm on my way to you right now. Which hospital?"

"Darkwood Pack Hospital," Erin replied, her voice small.

"I'll be there as soon as I can," he promised, already calculating how to use this situation to his advantage.

"She was fine yesterday," Erin continued, confusion evident in her voice. "How could this happen so suddenly?"

Alexander saw his opening. "It does seem strange," he said carefully. "Healthy people don't usually have sudden heart failures. Did something... or someone... trigger this?"

"Derek Stone," she whispered, her voice hardening. "He's behind this. He would hurt my mother just to get to me."

"You might be right," Alexander agreed, a triumphant smile spreading across his face that Erin couldn't see. "He's certainly ruthless enough. Why else would this happen right after you two argued? He's punishing you, using your mother as leverage."

"He's a monster," Erin's voice trembled with anger. "Unlike you, Alex. You've been nothing but kind to me and my family."

Alexander glanced at his Delta, who stood watching with a carefully neutral expression. "I'm not like him," he confirmed softly. "I would never hurt someone you love. Even if she doesn't survive, I'll be there for you, Erin. You won't be alone."

The words were calculated to plant seeds—both of fear for her mother's life and dependency on him. He heard Erin's sharp intake of breath.

"Don't say that," she pleaded. "She has to survive. She's all I have left."

"Of course," he backpedaled smoothly. "I'm sure Derek's doctors will do everything they can. After all, it wouldn't serve his purpose if she died."

Alexander paused, then asked casually, "Has Derek been there? To the hospital?"

"No," Erin replied bitterly. "But he's done enough damage already."

"What do you mean?"

There was a moment of silence before Erin spoke again, her voice lower. "Alexander, he didn't just hurt my mother. He's using her condition to force me into something terrible."

Alexander leaned forward, genuinely curious now. "What has he done?"

"He..." Erin hesitated, and he could hear her struggling to form the words. "He forced me to sign a binding ceremony contract."

"A binding contract?" Alexander repeated, his voice going cold. "With whom?"

"With him," Erin whispered.

Alexander's grip on the phone tightened so much that the case cracked under his fingers. A wave of genuine shock and rage washed over him, so intense that for a moment he couldn't speak. This wasn't part of his plan—not at all.

"What?" he finally managed, his voice hoarse with fury. "He's forcing you to become his Luna? Against your will?"

"Yes," Erin confirmed, her voice breaking. "He threatened to let my mother die if I didn't sign. I had no choice."

Alexander shot to his feet, pacing the room again, his free hand clenched into a fist. This changed everything. His entire plan had been to bind with Erin himself—to use her position as Derek's soul mate against him. With Erin as his Luna and Derek's destined mate, he could have systematically dismantled everything the Alpha of Darkwood Pack had built.

"That man is truly despicable," he spat, his voice shaking with barely contained rage. "To force a soul bond... it's beyond cruel. He can't do this to us, Erin. I won't let him take you from me."

Before Erin could respond, he heard muffled voices in the background.

"I have to go," she said suddenly. "The doctor is coming out. I'll call you back."

"I'll be there soon," Alexander promised before the line went dead.

He hurled the phone across the room with a roar of frustration. It shattered against the wall, pieces scattering across the polished floor. His Delta flinched but remained silent.

"That bastard!" Alexander snarled, his eyes blazing gold. "He's ruined everything! How dare he force her into a binding ceremony? She was meant to bind with ME!"

The Delta cleared his throat cautiously. "Alpha, perhaps we should reconsider our approach—"

"He knew," Alexander cut him off, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "He knew what I was planning. That's why he acted so quickly." He slammed his fist onto the marble countertop, cracking the expensive stone. "I was going to use her to destroy him! She's his soul mate—with her by my side, we could have broken him completely."

His Delta looked alarmed. "But Alpha, if they complete the binding ceremony—"

"They won't," Alexander snapped. "I'll find a way to stop it."

He strode toward the door, grabbing his jacket. "Have the car brought around. I'm going to the hospital. I need to speak with Erin before it's too late."
