Bonded to My Ex's Alpha Brother Chapter 67
Erin's POV
He kissed me again, this time deeper and more urgent. His teeth gently bit my lower lip, the pressure suggestive yet carrying a warning. I couldn't help but let out a small whimper, a sound that made me want to sink into the ground with embarrassment, but it only caused him to growl low, sending vibrations through my entire body.
His fingers slid into my hair, pulling slightly to adjust my head to the angle he wanted. I completely surrendered to his control, my body melting in his arms.
His kisses moved from the corner of my mouth, his hot lips grazing down my jaw, finally stopping at my neck. Sharp teeth lightly scraped over my pulse point with perfect pressure—not breaking the skin, yet carrying a dangerous promise. My body instinctively arched toward him, as if craving more.
His hand remained at my waist, his thumb making small circles, igniting every nerve beneath my skin. I could hear my own heartbeat, so rapid it felt like it might explode, something restless inside me pushing against my skin, yearning to be closer to him.
"Relax, Erin..." his voice was deep and hoarse, commanding yet enticing. His lips moved against my neck, his teeth grazing again, drawing an uncontrollable moan from my throat.
My face burned almost to the point of bleeding, shyness making me want to cover my sounds, but his fingers tightened around my waist at that moment, the heat of his palm making rational thought impossible.
He finally raised his head, his gaze fixed on my face, the corner of his mouth curving into a satisfied smile. That smile carried the confidence of one in control, yet also revealed a hint of dangerous tenderness. "See, you didn't run," he whispered, his voice brushing against my ear like a feather, causing another shiver to run through me. I bit my lower lip, shyly lowering my eyes, yet unable to deny the heat flowing deep within me, growing ever more intense because of him.
The Soul Bond between us came alive, hot and yearning. The wolf inside me stirred restlessly, pushing against my skin, longing to be closer to her mate. I heard myself make a small, needy sound that should have embarrassed me, but I was too immersed in the moment to care.
The harsh ring of the telephone shattered the moment. I broke free from his embrace, my cheeks flushed, my breathing unsteady. My lips felt swollen, and my body still hummed with unfulfilled desire. I pressed my thighs tightly together, trying to control the ache building between them.
---
"What is so urgent that it requires interrupting my personal time?" Derek answered the phone, his voice filled with frustrated anger.
I tried to quietly leave the office, needing a moment to compose myself. The places he had touched still burned, and I could barely think rationally.
Derek's sharp gaze tracked my movement. "Stop. Where do you think you're going?"
"I was just... giving you some privacy for your call," I explained, unable to meet his intense stare. The truth was, I needed to put some distance between us before I completely lost my self-control.
Derek gestured for me to stay put while he listened to the voice on the other end. I could hear Aaron's urgent voice through the receiver, mentioning traces of unknown intruders found at the boundary.
I stood there awkwardly, still tasting Derek on my lips. My body hadn't yet calmed down, and having to remain in his presence in this state was exquisite torture. I shifted my feet, trying to ease the tension still lingering inside me.
Derek suddenly frowned, pulling the phone away from his ear. "Aaron, wait a moment." He turned to me, his gaze penetrating, "Is your brother always this... eager to prove himself?"
I stared at him in shock, momentarily forgetting my physical discomfort. "My brother called you?"
Derek's gaze swept over my flushed face, lingering briefly on my lips before meeting my eyes again. "I personally keep track of every promising young wolf in the Darkwood Pack." He brought the phone back to his ear, "Aaron, I'll come to the training camp tomorrow. These matters aren't suitable for phone discussion. Don't worry, I'll personally teach you the correct tracking techniques."
After ending the call, Derek stood and walked toward me. My wolf immediately responded, making my heart race.
"You've never asked me to give your brother special attention," he said, stopping close enough that I could feel the heat radiating from his body.
"I didn't want to use family connections for special treatment," I answered quietly, forcing myself to maintain eye contact despite the intensity of his gaze.
The corner of Derek's mouth curved slightly upward as he reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. His fingertips brushed against my cheek, and I had to suppress a shiver. "Interesting. Most people wouldn't hesitate to use every possible advantage. You are... truly different, Erin."
---
An hour later, I sat at my desk reviewing Derek's electronic calendar. He had no formal meetings scheduled today, but tomorrow morning he had an important meeting with Alpha Ethan of the Ridgeclaw Pack.
I prepared a cup of black coffee made with specially hand-roasted coffee beans and decided to deliver it to his office personally.
As I walked toward Derek's office, the elevator doors opened, and Bradley unexpectedly appeared, clearly just returning from outside.
Seeing the coffee in my hand, Bradley smiled sarcastically: "It seems my dear brother has already acquainted you with all his preferences? Such an... intimate secretary relationship."
I tried to ignore him and continue walking, but Bradley deliberately blocked my path: "You know, the men in the Stone family have one thing in common—we like to play with our prey, then discard it when we grow bored."
"Please step aside, Mr. Stone," I responded calmly, "your brother is waiting for his coffee."
Bradley laughed: "How loyal! But you'll find his loyalty falls far short of yours. Perhaps you should ask him what his decade-long 'friendship' with Cassandra really entails."
When I finally reached Derek's office, I saw him engaged in a video call with another Alpha. I quietly set down the coffee, not wanting to disturb, yet Derek keenly sensed my presence and acknowledged me with a nod.
Later, a knock sounded at my office door. A messenger wearing the Darkwood Pack uniform stood outside, holding a carefully wrapped bouquet of deep red roses.
"Miss Blackwood, these are for you," the messenger said, presenting the bouquet with unusual respect.
I accepted the flowers with surprise as my phone vibrated with a text message: [For my little omega, roses as beautiful as you.]
Nestled among the flowers was a gold-embossed card: [Apologies for making you uncomfortable. Don't forget, I can smell every change in your emotions. —Your Admirer.]
My cheeks burned as I realized that Derek had not only sent me flowers but had also acknowledged my emotional fluctuations in an almost flirtatious way.
---
At closing time, Derek and I walked toward his private elevator. I clutched my tablet filled with documents tightly.
Before I could say hello, a strong vibration shook the entire lobby. The lights flickered unsteadily.
Derek immediately positioned himself in front of me, his body stance shifting to a protective posture, ready to face any threat.
The crystal chandelier in the lobby swayed dangerously. Suddenly, a piece of the fixture broke free and plummeted directly toward where I stood.
Derek reacted with lightning speed, pulling me into his arms while simultaneously raising his hand to shatter the falling crystal decoration with astonishing strength.
Fragments scattered everywhere, and Derek's arm was cut in several places, blood seeping through.
Other employees in the lobby watched the scene in terror as security personnel quickly arrived.
I was pressed tightly against Derek's chest, feeling his strong and steady heartbeat, a stark contrast to the chaos around us.
Once he confirmed the danger had passed, Derek gently released me, his voice filled with suppressed anger: "Tell me tomorrow's meeting schedule, now."
"The boundary protocol meeting at nine tomorrow morning," I answered shakily, "departure at seven."
Derek checked me for injuries, his gaze lingering on my face: "You're not hurt, good. This situation will not be permitted to happen again."
---
In the private parking area outside the company, I noticed Delta Mark approaching us. He wore black tactical gear that emphasized his muscle definition, his amber eyes alert and glinting in the twilight.
Mark respectfully nodded to Derek. "Alpha, the situation has changed. We need you at the boundary immediately."
I adjusted the bag on my shoulder, taking a small step back. "It's getting late, Alpha, I should take my leave." The memory of our kiss in his office was still vivid, making me unusually sensitive to his presence. Part of me wanted to avoid doing anything awkward, while another part didn't want to leave his side.
Derek turned to me, his gaze alone pinning me in place. His eyes slowly, deliberately swept over me, leaving a trail of heat wherever they passed. "Night is not the time for an Omega to walk alone. My private car will deliver you safely to your door."
He moved closer to me, close enough that I could once again catch his scent—cedar and leather mixed with the faint musk unique to his skin. His fingertips touched my arm, sliding from elbow to wrist.
This simple contact sent my pulse soaring. His voice was low and dangerous. "The outer territories of the Darkwood domain have been restless lately. I would not want my... personal secretary to encounter any misfortune."
The way he said "personal secretary" made it sound like a far more intimate term. My wolf stirred restlessly, responding to his proximity.
Derek suddenly added, "Don't go to Silvermoon Academy tomorrow."
I blinked in confusion, trying to focus on his words rather than how his body blocked everything else from my view. "But I have important classes..."
Derek interrupted me, his hand moving to cup my face. His thumb traced my lower lip, still sensitive from his earlier kisses. My breath caught in my throat. "At seven tomorrow morning, you will come to my private residence to pick me up. As my personal secretary, your place is by my side, not in those irrelevant classrooms."
His voice carried an undeniable command, but there was something else—a heat that made my stomach tighten. His eyes fell to my mouth again, and for a moment, I thought he might kiss me right there, in front of Mark and anyone else who might be watching.
"Unless," he continued, his voice dropping to a whisper only I could hear, "you're afraid to enter my private domain?"
