Choosing Between a Vampire and a Werewolf Chapter 2
As I was thinking, a woman suddenly blocked my path.
Her expression stubborn, eyes red, she said: "Holy Maiden, Darian and I are truly in love. Please don't tear us apart."
I was forced to stop. People came and went in the palace corridor, all stopping to watch.
Whispers arose: "What's going on? Is the Holy Maiden stealing someone's love?"
"I always said the Holy Maiden was willful and capricious. You argued with me before—now her true colors are showing!"
Seeing people taking her side, Faye's eyes flashed with delight, then she choked out:
"Holy Maiden, I just saw Darian ask you to cancel the alliance with the king. Why did you refuse?"
"You can't use your position as Holy Maiden of the siren tribe to bully others and destroy their relationship!"
I almost laughed in anger. These two had to come disgust me in waves.
In my last life, I never met Faye. I'd been curious many times about what kind of person Darian's sweetheart was.
For him to be unable to forget her for so many years.
Turned out, she was this unreasonable. A perfect match for the wolf-hearted Darian.
I took several deep breaths before swallowing my anger.
"I told you, my alliance partner is not Darian. No one's competing with you for your trash."
Like Darian, Faye clearly didn't believe me.
"Holy Maiden, stop deceiving yourself. Everyone saw how attentive you were to Darian these past months."
"Your careless words now are just because you know Darian chose me, and you're jealous!"
I couldn't communicate with someone this stupid. I raised my hand to push past her and leave.
But with just a light touch, Faye fell to the ground like a kite with a broken string.
Her arm scraped against broken stones, leaving several bloody scratches.
I instinctively reached to help her, but Darian came storming over and kicked me away.
I couldn't dodge in time and was kicked in the abdomen. I vaguely heard him roaring.
"Bitch! You call yourself a tribal maiden, yet bullying the weak is your clan's style?"
I curled up on the ground in pain. Darian's eyes were full of heartache as he gathered Faye into his arms.
"You're already frail. Why did you come all this way, only to be bullied?"
Aria helped me stand. I coldly mocked him:
"Frail? In hundreds of years I've never seen a werewolf who could be knocked down by a gentle push."
"So weak like this, I'd say she needs to be reforged."
Darian looked impatient: "Bella, you'd better know when to stop. Don't think bullying Faye will make me compromise and marry you. You're only making me despise you more!"
I laughed coldly: "Then despise me more."
Darian froze, about to ask more.
I slowly opened my mouth, and a gentle song emerged.
Instantly, both their faces turned deathly pale, cold sweat pouring.
As Holy Maiden of the siren tribe, I had the strongest spiritual power in the entire clan.
My voice was like a weapon, able to confuse minds and cause unbearable pain.
Faye lasted only a few seconds before her clothes were soaked with sweat. She collapsed on the ground, desperately covering her ears and begging for mercy.
Darian wasn't much better, gritting his teeth to hold on.
"Bella, if you stop now and apologize to Faye, I'll let today's incident go."
I looked at him coldly, my voice growing louder.
Now it seemed I wasn't the one who should be apologizing.
Darian bit his teeth hard, blood seeping from his mouth, his fists clenched with crackling sounds.
Finally, he couldn't hold on and knelt straight before me.
Quite pleased, I stopped and looked down at them from above.
"Daring to offend me in my territory—you should see what you really are."
