"Ophelia, look at the wall!"

Kate's voice was barely audible, trembling with an urgency that sent` a shiver down Ophelia's spine, as she switched on the back camera of her phone. Her hands shook so violently she nearly dropped it, knuckles white against the sleek case. Ophelia's heart raced, her breath hitching as the screen flickered to life, revealing the off-white wall opposite Kate's bed.

At first, the wall seemed innocuous, just a blank canvas in the dim light of Kate's bedroom. But as Kate turned the camera toward it, Ophelia gasped. Words began to emerge, scrawled one by one in a ghostly script that seemed to bleed into existence, as if an unseen hand was writing them in real time.

The letters appeared to shimmer and twist, defying the natural laws of light and shadow. Ophelia's heart raced, her pulse quickening as she read aloud, "No one can save you from me."

"Oh my God, Kate!" she exclaimed. The air around them crackled with a chilling energy, thickening with dread until it felt like breathing in ice. The words seemed to pulse with their own inner light, casting sickly shadows across the room.

Kate's eyes widened in horror, her hand shaking slightly as she held the camera steady. Sweat beaded on her forehead despite the unnatural cold that had settled over the room.

Ophelia continued to read, her voice wavering, "Do you think she can save you? Nah... She can never save you." With each line, the weight of the words pressed heavily on her chest, sending shivers down her spine. The message seemed to writhe on the wall, each letter twisting like a living thing.

"Ophelia, what does this mean?" Kate asked, her voice shaking, beads of sweat forming on her brow as she looked between the wall and Ophelia, her eyes wide with horror. The moonlight streaming through the window cast strange shadows across her face, making her look almost ghostly. "This can't be real!"

"I don't know, but it feels like it's talking directly to us," Ophelia replied, her voice shaking as she tried to keep her composure.

Kate stepped closer, her fingers trembling around her phone. "It's like... it knows us," she said, her voice thick with disbelief. "How is this even possible?"

A knot twisted in Ophelia's stomach as she read the chilling words aloud, "You will die, and before you, she will die from whom you are seeking help." The final line hit her like a sledgehammer, the weight of it pressing down on her chest like an iron shroud. The words seemed to burn themselves into her retinas, afterimages dancing in her vision. Doubt and fear burrowed deep within her, sending icy tendrils creeping through her mind. Was this real? Was something truly sinister lurking just out of sight?

"Kate, what does this mean?" Ophelia's voice trembled as she glanced at the camera screen, her own wide eyes reflecting the horror she felt. She turned her gaze to Kate, whose face had gone pale as milk. "Please, just tell me what to do!"

Kate opened her mouth to reply, but the words died on her lips as Ophelia's gaze snapped to the mirror attached to the wall. It was then that she saw it—a goat-headed figure, its eyes glowing like burning coals, staring back at her with an intelligence that made her blood run cold. The phone slipped from her hands, hitting the floor with a soft thud as dread wrapped around her throat like a vice. The creature's reflection seemed to smile, revealing rows of needle-sharp teeth.

"Have you seen it?" Kate's voice shattered the silence. "The words are appearing and disappearing on the wall with no one around. Do you believe me now, after seeing it with your own eyes?"

"Kate, who's in your room?" Ophelia's voice quaked. The screen's glow cast eerie shadows across her face, highlighting the fear in her eyes.

"No one," Kate said, her gaze flitting nervously around the room.

"Then whose reflection is that in the mirror?" Ophelia shot back, her voice sharp with panic. She pointed at the ornate dressing table mirror with a shaking finger, her other hand pressed against her mouth.

Kate rushed over, her bare feet silent on the plush carpet, peering into the mirror's aged surface, only to find her own wide-eyed face staring back. The antique frame seemed to trap shadows within its carved patterns, making them dance and twist.

"There is no one," she said, incredulous, her heartbeat racing as she turned back to Ophelia, who was now ghostly pale, looking as if she might faint. The putrid stench that had filled the room moments ago grew stronger.

"Kate, there's a goat-headed figure in the mirror! It's staring at me!" Ophelia's voice was thick with terror, the weight of her words pressing heavily on Kate's mind.

"What do you mean?" Kate demanded, her eyes darting between Ophelia and the mirror, searching for what her friend had described.

Without knowing it, Kate's phone continued recording, capturing the horrific sight for Ophelia to witness. As she glanced back at the mirror, the goat-headed creature appeared again, its ghastly snarl echoing through the room like a sinister laugh. Its eyes glowed with an otherworldly crimson light, boring into Ophelia's soul.

Kate stumbled backward, colliding with the bed, panic etched across her features. The mattress caught her, springs creaking ominously in the tension-filled silence.

"It's gone," Ophelia gasped, trying to steady her breathing, her mind racing to comprehend the horror they faced.

"You saw it," Kate whispered, her voice shaking. Tears glimmered in her eyes, equal parts relief and terror. "Now you can't deny it. You can't just chalk this up to my stressed-out mind playing tricks."

"Yes, I saw it," Ophelia replied, shuddering. Her free hand wrapped around her middle as if trying to hold herself together. "But think about it: the monster appeared to you first, then it showed itself to me while I was on the phone. It's like it's toying with us, sending a warning."

"I don't understand any of this," Kate murmured, fingers clutching the bedspread beneath her. "But one thing is clear: this thing is relentless. It seems to haunt me whenever I'm in this house... I feel it lurking, like it's watching."

"Kate, the monster said it would kill me before you. Why would it say that?" Ophelia's voice was almost a whisper, heavy with dread. The words on the wall had faded, but their threat lingered in the air like poison.

Above them, the light fixture flickered ominously, casting strange patterns across the walls.
