Into the Alpha’s Keep Chapter 84: 84

6 min 43K views

POV Fenrir Dăneşti

She held the pills, but it seemed she no longer had control. She rubbed her free hand over her breast, playing with her pink nipple, and let out a moan.

"Take the inhibitor. Now!" I ordered, using my authority as an alpha to command her before things went beyond repair.

She was immune to the scent that made others fear me, but not to my authority as her leader. She blinked, clearing her vision.

"God, this is getting worse," she murmured, opening the pill bag and taking two at once. "I'll take a double dose."

"Wasn't it like that the first time?" I asked, curious.

"Not quite. I mean, it was bad too. I felt the heat, the scent I couldn’t control, the moans... but it seemed easier to handle."

"It might be because you're mated now."

"Yeah, could be."

Although I understood some things, I had no idea how the mating heat period worked between mated wolves. It wasn’t common for couples to walk around sharing their experiences, and I had never been interested in asking. I thought I would never mate with anyone.

I also felt more affected, like her, although I was able to control myself better. The first time, my beast took over at the first wave of strong heat she felt and released pheromones, and before I knew it, we were mated. But this was different—I was in control and enduring every move she made.

"I'll leave you alone," I warned, taking steps back and approaching the door. "It's better this way, until it takes effect."

She shook her head in agreement.

"I hope it works soon," she said, walking over to my bed and throwing herself on it, curling up in the sheets like a dog.

She was still suffering from the effects of her heat.

I didn’t wait another second. I opened the door and slammed it as I left the room. I took a deep breath, leaning against the wood, and stared into the dark hallway.

If I had to deal with that again, I wouldn’t live long enough to reach five hundred years.

I smelled her scent again and let out an exasperated groan.

I ran to the first floor, moving too quickly. Anton jumped when he saw me and let out a whistle.

"What happened?" he asked.

"She took the inhibitor," I informed him, casting a glance at the window. The sky was clear, and some sunbeams were tinging the blue. "Keep an eye on her."

"What are you going to do?"

"First, I’ll collect the body from Savannah's old room, then I'll go to the village."

"What are your plans?"

"I'll act casually and observe. Whoever allowed that male to enter is probably expecting some kind of reaction from me, a retaliation."

His eyes lit up.

"And you'll act strangely since you won’t reveal the attack you suffered."

I smiled.

"Exactly."

"Hmm... smart," he praised.

In the past, I had gathered the pack and aligned rules and measures to protect everyone. They were aware of the attacks we had been enduring, why, and where they were coming from. Still, there was a traitor. It was time to change tactics and act differently.

"Remember, stay alert to any sound you hear."

"I know. No one will touch Savannah, don’t worry."

I saw the fear in her eyes after that bastard threatened her and touched her. She was terrified, yet filled with deep anger. Of all the pleasures I had ever experienced in life, Hunter's death would top the list.

"Good."

Nicoleta would arrive soon to prepare breakfast and do the household chores. I would collect the body and toss it somewhere in the middle of the forest. The animals would take care of the rest.

POV Savannah Bowen

I let out an exasperated growl when another wave of heat hit me. It was so strong that I thought it might tear me in half.

The damn inhibitor wasn’t working; it seemed to be making the situation worse. It had been hours since I took the damned pills, and things seemed to be getting progressively worse.

I got up with a sharp movement, jumping out of bed. My wild instincts were starting to dominate, overpowering my human will.

I looked around the empty room. The fire crackled in the fireplace, warming the room. The sun was high in the sky, but weak, only serving to light up the day.

I stared out the window, admiring the white landscape. The snow weighed down on the tree branches, and the animals inhabiting the forest left tracks wherever they went.

I sighed, loving the view that Fenrir had from his room.

My fur stood on end when another wave hit me. I felt uncomfortable, as if something was wrong with me. I placed my hands on my hips and spun around, scanning the room.

I fumbled with the bed, adjusting the sheets, as if something were wrong with them. I ran to Fenrir's closet and smelled his clothes, all of them, pulling towards me the ones that carried his scent the most.

I put on one of his shirts and wrapped it around my body, smiling as I was enveloped by the scent of fresh pine and damp earth.

I had no idea what I was doing; I only felt the need to do it, and I gave in.

I took all the clothes I had picked up to the bed, throwing them on the mattress. I arranged them, folding and spreading them out, covering the corners and adjusting the center.

I looked at the mess I had made, tilting my head to the side. I bit my lip, feeling as if something was still missing.

I returned to the closet and grabbed more shirts, tearing them up and turning them into rags scattered on the bed. I went to the bathroom and rummaged through the laundry basket, taking the sweatpants he had worn to sleep. The scent of him soaked into it was divine, as if he were near.

Fenrir would be a bit upset with the state of the room and his clothes when he returned, but I couldn’t help it. It was necessary, it had to be done.

He would have to understand that this was for us, for our well-being.

I dragged the bed to the other side, bringing it closer to the window, where a strip of sunlight stretched, and I pushed the armchair away, along with the nightstands. I kept at it for a few minutes, collecting new clothes, tearing some, and spreading them across the bed, re-adapting the whole room. I stretched my nails and shredded the pillow. White feathers floated through the air, landing gently on the pile of clothes. I did the same with the other pillows, until there were no more left. Until it was perfect for me.

When I finished, I lay down and breathed in, approving the scent of him that completely soaked the place.

I purred, content with the work I had done.

It was so flawless, all that was missing was him to keep me company.

I hummed softly, curling up in the middle of those clothes, rubbing my scent into them, mixing it with his. The two of them matched so well, they were perfect together.

I exhaled more scent, filling the entire room with the aroma of my heat-stricken wolf.

I sat up and waited for the male, for him, for the only alpha I wanted, needed, and no matter how much I told myself he wasn’t and wouldn’t be relevant, it was a lie.

He was already ingrained in me. In my dreams, my heart, and my soul.

I stared at the door, patiently, waiting for him.
