Into the Alpha’s Keep Chapter 88: 88

POV Savannah Bowen

I opened my eyes and snuggled in bed, rubbing against the torn and messy clothes, stretching. I yawned, feeling the exhaustion of the last three days finally catching up to me.

I lifted myself on my elbows and glanced around the room. Feathers and pieces of clothes were scattered all over the place, covering every square inch. The fireplace was lit, with the fire crackling to keep us warm.

The smell of sex lingered around, mixed with mine and Fenrir's. Over the last three days, he had marked me several times, just as I had done to him.

And my wolf had also found an excellent idea to open the womb hundreds of times while his gave me the knot repeatedly.

Fenrir had fucked me in every way and in every corner of the room, nonstop, without resting, satisfying me during the chaotic rut. We hadn't eaten or rested properly; all we did was have sex.

As my mate, it was his duty to satisfy me, and he fulfilled his role.

My stomach growled, reminding me of the last few days without food.

Because of our wild nature, our bodies, despite the efforts, suppressed energy, which is why we could go days without food during rut, something that would be humanly impossible.

As if summoned, Fenrir entered the room carrying a breakfast tray, completely naked, swinging his huge cock between his legs.

I opened and closed my mouth, stunned.

I admired his muscles that tensed with each movement, his long, toned legs, and his arms. His hair was a mess, and several feathers settled among the curls. The stubble on his face was longer than usual, and his eyes had a gleam of exhaustion.

He stared at me, admiring my body, as naked as his, as if we hadn’t spent the last three days locked in each other. And it literally was, because every time he gave me a knot, our bodies became interlinked.

He inhaled, his nostrils flaring.

“I think it’s over,” he murmured, his voice hoarse.

I lowered my gaze to his hardened cock and raised an eyebrow.

“Don’t you get tired?”

He laughed and set the tray on the bed, carefully avoiding disturbing the mess I had made. My wolf seemed to go crazy whenever this happened.

“Of you? No,” he replied casually.

The smell of the food dominated the air. I kneeled on the bed and leaned over the tray, grabbing a piece of meat and tossing it into my mouth, moaning in satisfaction. I grabbed one of the glasses of water and gulped it all down, desperate, wetting my chin before grabbing more food.

“I missed this so much,” I hissed, chewing slowly.

He sat on the edge of the bed, making the mattress sink under his weight, and grabbed a piece of bread.

“If Alexandra’s right, this will happen again. We need to prepare.”

“Do you think the inhibitor will never work when it happens?”

He shook his head.

“No idea, I’ll ask Jax about it. But I don’t think there’s anything we can do when our nature calls. Your wolf anticipated the rut, she wanted this to happen, like a need, even the inhibitor couldn’t stop her.”

I thought about that, following his line of reasoning. Our beasts' desires were above us and beyond anything. Although we had control over them, in some aspects, there was nothing we could do.

“Well... I hope you start stocking food in your room, please,” I said, swallowing another piece of meat.

“Something’s bothering me.”

I dragged my eyes to him.

“And what is it?”

“Your rut only lasted three days, again. Normally it’s seven.”

I pressed my lips together.

“Maybe because we’re mated.”

He pondered, nodding.

“Maybe...” he whispered, but it didn’t seem like he was sure he believed his own words.

We finished eating in silence, prioritizing the tender meat. Our wild nature craved the food. Meat was our favorite.

My wolf purred, satisfied with Fenrir. Besides being an amazing mate, satisfying me, he was also feeding me, becoming a worthy partner.

He stood up and took the empty tray.

“I need to stretch my legs,” he warned. I nodded.

“How long has it been since you last shifted?”

“Many months,” I confessed, nostalgic.

While running from Hunter, I didn’t have time, and I thought there were hunters in the forest, so I didn’t have the courage. And since arriving in Dăneşti, I hadn’t thought much about it, I didn’t know the people well and didn’t trust anyone enough to shift. I had been putting it off, ignoring it, but I missed it.

“Do you want to join me?” he asked, the silver in his eyes dancing in his irises as he waited for my answer. “No one will come near you, not with me by your side.”

My heart raced, almost skipping a beat. I shifted anxiously.

Being a wolf was part of me, part of my nature. I loved the sensations of being one completely. Running through the forest, feeling my paws touch the ground, hearing and seeing every little detail.

“Yes,” I hissed, my voice sounding high-pitched. “God, I miss this so much.”

“I imagine you do.” He lifted the tray. “I’ll drop this off in the kitchen and come back to get dressed. Will you be ready for me?” He glanced out the window. “It’s snowing lightly. We need to go now, before it gets too late.”

I nodded, jumping up, messing up the things around me. I turned and tidied the clothes’ wreckage, aligning them in the way I felt was right. Fenrir watched me, his lips pressed together, before leaving.

My old room was clean and organized, very different from Fenrir's. The smell of cleaning products was pungent, leaving no trace of the blood odor from the bastard who attacked me nights before. Nicoleta had been thorough with the cleaning.

I pulled the first piece of clothing I saw, the oldest and most worn, dedicating it to its end, as they would fall apart into pieces during my transformation.

I entered the bathroom and was shocked to see my reflection in the sink mirror. My hair was a mess, tangled and full of feathers. There were dark circles under my eyes, and my lips looked swollen and chapped.

My cheeks heated with the meaning of that.

I cleaned myself up and did my hygiene. It took me longer than usual to undo all the tangles and tie my hair in a ponytail.

Fenrir and I had showered; we had used his bathtub many times. And we had fucked in it so many other times that I couldn’t even count. We just forgot to eat and sleep.

He was waiting for me, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed. He wore old pants but no shirt.

“You’re going out like this?”

“I’d prefer to go out naked, but I don’t want to scare anyone out there.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Sure you would.”

He grabbed my arm when I tried to pass him, heading to the hallway. He inhaled, smelling me.

“Are you sure your rut won’t come back? The three days still worry me.”

Being in a rut couple was kind of... dangerous for other males. A mated wolf tended to become very aggressive when the female went into heat. Fenrir had managed well, or he would’ve ripped Anton’s head off at the first opportunity.

“Yes, I’m sure.”
