Love Drug Chapter 252: Ruining Her Birthday
The Graham Group's investment division was the largest investor in the country. No matter the industry, if it was a top-tier institution, the Graham Group had a stake in it.
Xavier made a call. "Bossman, want to come to The Qube for some fun?"
The man on the other end responded with an emotionless voice, "No time."
"Oh?" Xavier chuckled. "Your dear Summer is here."
Fraser frowned. What is she doing in a place like that while pregnant?
"Why is she there?"
Xavier shrugged, his tone laced with amusement. "No idea. She said she's here for her best friend's birthday party. You know how loud this place is. From a medical perspective, it's not good for a pregnant woman to stay too long. It could lead to suboptimal health. Best case, it's bad for the baby; worst case… well, you know. As your good friend, I feel obligated to stop her. The problem is, I don't know which private room she's in."
Xavier spouted nonsense with a completely serious expression. But the man on the other end actually listened. His deep voice came through. "Wait there."
With that, the call ended. A few seconds later, Xavier received a message.
"Room 505. Keep an eye on her. I'll be there soon."
Xavier smirked. Little wildcat, here I come!
…
Summer entered Room 505.
The place was packed, filled with a deafening mix of voices and flashing lights. The stage glowed with dazzling colors, casting an almost surreal glow over the room. The music blasted at full volume.
Most of Yvette's social circle was from the entertainment industry. So nearly everyone attending her birthday party tonight was a trending celebrity or internet influencer–gorgeous, glamorous women dressed to impress.
When Summer walked in, the crowd was too caught up in the party to notice her. It was Yvette, in the middle of dancing, who spotted her first. She immediately jumped off the stage and pulled Summer over. "Summer, you made it! Sit for a bit. I'll have them bring out the cake now. Once we blow out the candles, you can have a bite, and I'll have someone send you home."
Summer glanced at the time. "It's not even midnight yet."
Yvette knew this environment was too overwhelming for a pregnant woman. The fact that Summer had come at all already made her happy.
"With you here, it already feels like midnight." She called over a server to prepare the cake.
Moments later, a towering five-layer cake was wheeled in by the staff. The band on stage lowered the volume, and all the celebrities and influencers gathered around.
"Wow, the birthday girl's moment!"
"Happy birthday, Yvette! May your career reach new heights! Time to win that award!"
"May Yvette make tons of money!"
The atmosphere instantly became even livelier. Just as the cake was being brought in, a man strolled in behind it. A slick-looking guy with a roguish air.
It was Bobby… The same Bobby who had been relentlessly chasing after Yvette recently.
He also happened to be Trevor's friend. The moment Yvette saw him, her expression darkened. "What the hell are you doing here?!"
Bobby, dressed in a blue shirt and black trousers, swaggered into the room.
"Heard it was your birthday. You seriously didn't invite me?"
"The hell does my birthday have to do with you? I already told you. I'm not interested. Get lost!"
Bobby had already had a few drinks tonight, and the alcohol was making him bolder. He'd been chasing this woman for nearly half a year. And she still ignored him.
If soft tactics didn't work, then it was time for something harder.
Women were all the same, saying no when they really meant yes. Standing nearby, Summer frowned at the sight of Bobby.
Back when she was with Trevor, the one person she disliked the most among his friends was Bobby.
A shameless womanizer, arrogant, and condescending toward women. He had mocked her more than once.
Bobby's gaze swept the room casually and landed on Summer.
"Yo, Summer, you're here too? I heard you dumped my buddy Trevor and went after the bossman of the Graham family. That true?"
Summer's expression turned cold. "What does that have to do with you?"
Bobby lazily hooked his finger under a pretty girl's chin. The girl blushed and lowered her head.
"I just don't get it. Back then, you clung to Trevor like your life depended on it. And now, you've thrown yourself into another man's arms? Does the bossman not mind picking up someone else's leftovers?"
His words were beyond insulting. The room was full of women, all watching with interest, eager for gossip. Yvette was furious. Why did this disgusting man have to ruin my birthday party?
Summer picked up a glass of water from the table, ready to throw it straight at Bobby's filthy mouth.
