Love Drug Chapter 311: New Queen
Previously, she had merely hoped to keep her distance from Fraser, but now her disdain for Summer had escalated to the point of wishing death upon her, unborn child and all. "Summer, I'll show you that marrying into the Graham family is an impossibility!"
Summer felt a chilling gaze pierce through her and looked up to meet Helen's eyes, unyieldingly staring back.
With a smirk, Summer thought. Did she really think I'm still the old me, the one she could manipulate at will?
Wrapping her arm around Fraser's, her dark, lustrous eyes fixed on him, she cooed in annoyance, "Honey, breakfast has become such a hassle. Sharon and August, really, barging in early in the morning with their nonsense. Don't they know their place?"
Fraser's inscrutable dark gaze flickered toward her briefly. His large hand covered hers, squeezing it slightly—a silent declaration of his allegiance.
At Summer's words, Helen, August, and Sharon's faces turned sour.
August couldn't hold back his anger. "What did you just say, you lowly woman? Don't you know your place? Is it your turn to speak when your elders are speaking?"
Summer smiled, gently caressing her belly, her tone neither servile nor overbearing, "Don't we respect our elders? The child I'm carrying will be the Graham family's eldest grandson, and I'm about to be Fraser's rightful wife. I deserve respect, but did your earlier words show any respect toward me? Huh?"
August's face turned beet red with anger, his chest heaving as he pointed accusingly at Summer.
"I thought you at least had some decency and manners, but it turns out you’re nothing but an uncultured woman! If it weren't for Fraser, you wouldn't even be worthy of speaking to me!"
"Enough!" Fraser snapped sharply, his icy gaze slicing through August's hand, chilling as a winter storm.
August instinctively withdrew his hand.
"She is my wife, the lady of the Graham family. Since you can't respect her, you are no longer welcome here."
Bang! Helen slammed her hand on the table.
"Fraser, how can you do this to August and Sharon? Are you willing to be at odds with the whole world for her?"
Fraser leaned back in his chair, a frosty smile playing on his lips, his voice cold and ominous, "Anyone who disrespects my wife can forget about any courtesies."
Helen glared daggers at Summer, wishing she could stab her right then and there.
Summer’s smile deepened, her radiant face leaning against Fraser's shoulder, "Honey, you're so good to me. Didn’t you also say you want me to manage the Graham family? Since Madam Graham is getting on in years, it’s best she doesn’t stress over the younger generation's affairs. Let her... stay comfortably in her room and enjoy her twilight years."
Sharon's pupils dilated, her words faltering.
"You... you want to confine Helen, how dare you!"
Summer's voice softened playfully, "Oh Sharon, what are you saying? It’s just that my baby can't be stressed, and it's only a small inconvenience for her. If anything were to happen to it, grandfather would never let you go."
Helen went pale with rage, gasping for breath, her eyes rolling back as she looked like she was on the brink of death.
August and Sharon panicked, shouting, "Call the doctor! Get the doctor here now!"
The family doctors rushed out upon hearing the call.
After administering a sedative to Helen, she calmed down slightly. However, she could no longer speak, just staring blankly ahead.
August took a deep breath, looking at Fraser, trying to reason, "Fraser, she's your grandmother, the one who never left your side when you were sick. If you listen to this woman and confine her, what about the law?"
Sharon quickly agreed, "Yes, yes, Fraser! Aunt Helen has always been highly respected; everyone holds her in high esteem. How could she possibly bear this humiliation? If Maximus were here, he'd never allow her to be treated this way."
Summer's gaze remained aloof and superior, letting them feel the discomfort of a diminished life.
Turning to Fraser, she was about to say more when she heard his unyielding voice.
"Do as my wife says. Without my permission, Madam Graham is not to step outside."
