Love Drug Chapter 268: Hospital Emergency
Inside the room, Summer scanned the menu, all diet with spicy.
Not my preference.
I had dined with Merry several times before; she knew my preferences well. So why today...?
A sudden realization hit her. When I had first entered, the restaurant had been almost empty and shabby, and the servers' eyes had had a strange glint for us.
And now, this private room with a round table large enough for ten people; nothing about it suggested an intimate meal for two.
She tossed the menu aside and got up to leave.
Then, a strange, sweet scent wafted in through the windows.
Summer took barely two steps before the scent hit her. Dizziness washed over her like a wave.
Instinctively, she clutched at her stomach, but the drug worked quickly. Her vision blurred, her limbs grew heavy, and darkness swallowed her consciousness.
The door creaked open.
Sienna stepped inside, waving a hand in front of her nose to clear the lingering fumes. Her venomous eyes locked on the unconscious woman slumped at the table. A grotesque smile curled her lips.
"Summer Stewart... After tonight, you'll join me in hell."
She pulled out her phone.
"Mr. Philip, the gift for you is ready. Delivering it now."
Outside the restaurant, Merry paced the curb, her stomach churning with unease.
Something about Sienna's demeanor didn't match her supposed remorse; it felt calculated. Sinister.
A taxi pulled up. The driver called out, "Miss? Hurry up, you're blocking traffic!"
The call snapped Merry into action.
No. I have to get back.
She sprinted toward the restaurant, her pace quickening to a frantic run. She burst into the private room and found it empty; only the acrid aftertaste of burnt incense hung in the air.
Merry grabbed a passing waiter. "Where are the people from this room?"
The man shrugged. "Gone."
"Where?" Merry was flustered.
"No idea."
Merry's nails dug into her palms. "Two women or one?"
"No idea."
"Were they awake or..."
"No idea."
Merry's face drained of color. What have I done?
Summer... Please be safe.
…
Meanwhile, in a luxury hotel, Sienna, dressed in a black dress with a scarf covering half her face, glanced furtively down the hallway. Beside her, a bribed restaurant worker carried Summer's limp form, a long coat draped over her from head to toe.
Just then, the elevator dinged.
Lucas stepped out, fresh from a business dinner.
As the doors slid open, Sienna's group rushed in, colliding with him.
The coat covering Summer slipped, revealing a strand of auburn hair.
Sienna yanked it back up with panicked haste.
Lucas' gaze flickered to the bundle, but he caught only that fleeting glimpse before the fabric swallowed the view again.
Wait!
Sienna's heart pounded.
It's the man from the restaurant!
She ducked her head, not daring to meet his eyes.
Lucas stepped out, frowning.
A familiar scent-gardenias? lingered in the air.
He turned.
The elevator doors hissed shut, but not before he caught Sienna's guilty, shifty look.
In the hotel suite, Philip swaggered in, his beady eyes fixed on the figure sprawled across the bed.
The woman wore a pale blue blouse and a gray pencil skirt that hugged every curve. Porcelain skin. Lips like crushed roses. The kind of beauty that begged to be destroyed.
Desire ignited in Philip's gaze.
Smack!
He landed a hard slap on Sienna's backside.
"You're a sick bitch, betraying your own friend. But I love it."
Sienna covered her disgust with a chuckle and slinked away. "Mr. Philip, I did this for you. After tonight, you'll have the Bossman's wife."
Philip shoved a credit card between her breasts.
"Now fuck off. Don't interrupt my fun."
Outside, Sienna leaned against the door and exhaled.
"Don't blame me, Summer. You brought this on yourself."
With that, she walked away.
Inside the room, Philip loomed over the bed, unbuckling his belt with a predator's grin.
The leather slid free with a hiss.
His fingers moved to his waistband.
Click.
The button popped open.
