I didn't really understand how things had suddenly escalated this way.

Watching two ability users who'd been invisible suddenly appear and pin down Lily as she tried to attack me, I stood there dumbfounded as Quinn protectively held me.

The water blade that Lily had struggled to form with all her strength barely managed to scratch Quinn's arm.

The safe zone's leader arrived just in time, followed by a portly figure.

I recognized him—the university principal.

"Principal Hayes, your niece seems mentally unstable. Perhaps you should take her home to rest," the leader said calmly, glancing at Lily being restrained on the ground.

Ah, now it made sense.

No wonder Lily was so domineering, and even the advisor centered everything around her. Turns out the principal was her relative!

But now...

Even the best connections were useless.

When it came to survival, everyone knew how to prioritize.

Principal Hayes, sweating profusely, nodded and bowed to the leader while anxiously checking on Lily's condition.

I watched this scene feeling like it was all somehow distant from me.

"The authorities inside the safe zone knew about my constitution?" I suddenly asked, staring directly at the leader.

As expected, his pupils constricted momentarily.

I smiled knowingly.

"Looks like I seem too easy to bully."

I laughed softly, shaking my head, following an instinct deep inside as I let out a zombie roar.

The ground suddenly trembled. Several nearby zombies quickly appeared before me.

And one of them was the ability user who'd just restrained Lily.

Ha...

How foolish.

The moment I entered the safe zone, I'd already detected the scent of high-level zombies inside.

I watched clearly as the leader staggered back in alarm, immediately surrounded by his people. Dark gun barrels instantly pointed at us.

Quinn's pupils flashed red. He gripped my hand tighter, pulling me protectively into his arms.

"By now, you should understand that evolved zombies can easily infiltrate human society, and humans have no way to identify them," I said coldly, comfortable in Quinn's protection as I stared at the leader surrounded by his guards.

"The only one who can identify them and give orders is me. So... I don't think you have any choice."

The leader's face looked terrible, but he quickly told me what I wanted to know.

"We did research your constitution, but we didn't dare act rashly."

"Your constitution is too special. If we carelessly introduced the zombie virus and it mutated in a dangerous direction, it would be a catastrophe not just for our safe zone, but for all of humanity."

"But you never expected I'd be bitten by a high-level zombie and have my constitution activated," I finished for him, my lips curving slightly.

The leader's expression was grim, looking at me with clear hesitation.

I was silent for a moment before speaking softly.

"I still have the same proposal—create a new world of coexistence. You need to understand that humans can no longer compete with zombies. If they wanted, humanity wouldn't survive until tomorrow's sunrise."

After a long silence, the leader finally gave a silent nod.

With the matter resolved and Lily taken away, on our way back to my little safe zone apartment, I turned to Quinn.

"So now can you tell me what exactly my constitution is, and why you called me the Zombie King?"
