Fortunately, no one seemed to notice my panic.

Made sense.

Compared to some insignificant gossip, a zombie outbreak that threatened their lives was way more important.

Within moments, everyone had scattered.

In front of me, all that remained were my fake friend and the guy who wanted to run but couldn't because she was clutching him tightly. He was shaking so hard his legs were trembling...

Oh wait, not the male lead anymore. Just some random nobody now.

"Sis," the kid said with a smile, walking over to me and holding out his hand.

"Let's go home."

I looked at the hand he extended—long fingers, pale and beautiful.

If he hadn't personally told me the truth after waking up, and if it weren't for the changes in my body after he bit me, I would have genuinely believed he was just a normal human.

I sighed softly, placing my hand in his palm, smiling as I spoke his name.

"Let's go, Quinn."

"Why are you packing, Sis?" Quinn sat on the edge of the bed, tilting his head with a puzzled expression.

I glared at him.

"This is all because of you! Why did you have to let out that zombie roar? Now everyone's going to know that Sophia Carter has been keeping a zombie in her house. If we don't run now, are we just going to wait for them to come capture you and slice you up for research?"

Quinn laughed.

"Then come with me, Sis. The safe zone won't be safe after the zombie outbreak anyway. Come with me, and I promise your life will be exactly the same as it is now."

I paused in my packing, turning to look deeply at Quinn.

"Okay."
