Rejected by the Alpha, Marked by the Lycan King Chapter 11
Sarah stayed in bed for two days, barely recovering some energy.
She said she had to fight for my future, so she went to negotiate the cooperation with Liam that same day.
I heard that when Liam found out I agreed to work with him, he was practically glowing.
The funniest part was, as our project neared its end, he actually made a public declaration of love downstairs at my rented office building.
Like a wolf pup who just came of age, he laid out a circle of heart-shaped electric candles, holding a cake and flowers.
He released courting pheromones constantly downstairs, yelling, "Elena, be my Luna!"
I was in Noah's shop at the time.
Hearing the shouting outside, I shuddered.
Noah instantly spotted the issue. His pupils slit into vertical lines—the sign of a provoked predator. "Is that mongrel from the East harassing you?"
I put a finger to my lips, telling him to keep it down. "Is it something to be proud of?"
Noah put down the cake knife. "Sigh. He's really affecting my business. And his scent is terrible."
Saying that, he walked out.
I crouched by the door. I couldn't hear what they were saying, only saw Noah pointing in a direction, telling Liam to leave.
But Liam refused to go. He even spotted me peeking from the doorway.
He bypassed Noah and walked up to me, kneeling on one knee, offering the flowers.
"Elena, marry me."
I slapped his flowers away, kicked over his cake, and left him with one word.
"Scram."
Liam couldn't believe I was actually this heartless. He stood up to grab me, but Noah stopped him with one hand.
Noah's hand clamped onto Liam's wrist like an iron pincer.
"Stop embarrassing yourself. She told you to get lost. Are you deaf?"
Liam was submissive in front of me, but seeing another male ignited his temper. His Alpha aura exploded, trying to suppress Noah.
"What does it have to do with you? Back down, Beta!"
He thought Noah was a rankless Beta.
He looked Noah up and down, then raised his voice to ask me: "You won't remarry me just for this cake seller?"
"What can he give you? Can he give you the protection an Alpha can?"
I turned around in anger, about to curse him out, when I saw Noah wag a finger in Liam's face.
Immediately after, a terrifying, suffocating pressure erupted from Noah.
That wasn't ordinary Alpha pressure.
That was the aura of Progenitor Wolf royalty.
Liam's face went instantly pale. His knees buckled. It was a fear from the depths of his bloodline, forcing him instinctively to kneel.
Noah looked down at the shivering Liam and smiled:
"You are mistaken. My cake shop doesn't pay rent."
"This territory... is mine."
"Baking is just a little hobby. By the way, I am the Lycan King of the Dark Moon."
