I woke up in the hospital.

The smell of disinfectant filled my nostrils.

The slightest movement sent searing pain through both legs.

The person caring for me saw I was awake and ran out joyfully.

"Sir! Madam! Miss is awake!"

Before I could react, two well-dressed people stood by my hospital bed, eyes red.

I weakly looked up at them.

"Who are you?"

The woman's tears immediately fell.

"Sweetheart, we're Mom and Dad. Don't you remember us?"

I grew more guarded, clutching the sheets.

"I grew up in an orphanage. I don't remember my parents at all."

The man's voice was choked.

"When you were four, our enemies maliciously kidnapped you and left you at an orphanage. All these years, we've been searching for you."

"Thank heaven, we finally found you before we died."

I bit my lip.

Still not daring to believe.

In the orphanage, I was often ostracized.

Back then, I desperately hoped my biological parents would find me.

The woman held my hand.

She pulled me into her arms.

"Sweetheart, Mom and Dad have searched so hard for you all these years."

Feeling her warmth and pleasant scent, my nose also stung.

Mom held me.

After crying enough, she tearfully caressed my legs.

"We had doctors examine your legs. Because surgery was timely, they can recover to normal."
