Delight flashed in Lily's eyes.

But she quickly put on her usual act.

"What? No way, Ethan, I'm telling you, women like her love to make a scene. This is definitely one of her tricks to fool you. If you believe it, she's got you completely wrapped around her finger."

"Just wait for her little performance. When she sees you're not falling for it, she'll naturally come back."

But Ethan had already caught the smile in her eyes.

He gripped her throat hard.

"You're happy Chelsea's missing, aren't you? Think I'll marry you once I'm separated from her? Dream on."

"Who'd want a woman who's been around like you? I was just bored, so I played around with you."

"Lily Watson, you'd better pray nothing happens to Chelsea. Otherwise, I won't let you off."

After returning home, he searched everywhere for my whereabouts.

But couldn't find me anywhere.

Then, an invitation was delivered to him.

He'd wanted to decline, but seeing it was from the Fitzgerald family, he hesitated and decided to attend.

At the gala, Ethan saw Lily again.

She ran over sweetly.

"It's been so many days. You should have calmed down by now, right?"

No matter how Ethan treated her, she'd grasp every opportunity to become Mrs. Shaw.

But Ethan didn't want to deal with her.

"Today is Miss Fitzgerald's homecoming. I don't want to fight with you. Get out of my sight."

Venom flashed in Lily's eyes.

Before she could pester him, gasps rose from the crowd. She and Ethan followed everyone's gaze.

Both their expressions changed dramatically.

I stood at the center of the crowd, accepting congratulations while coldly watching them.

After my parents announced I was the Fitzgerald heiress, Lily's already ugly expression mixed with some fear.

Ethan desperately wanted to approach me.

My eyes were cold.

But my lips curved slightly.

"Everyone, today I have a good show for you all to watch."

Everyone was curious.

At my signal, the butler invited two lucky audience members.

Ethan and Lily.

"Chelsea, I finally found you. Do you know how worried I've been these days!"

He tried to take my hand.

I stepped aside to avoid him.

"Cut the crap, Ethan. What you should do now is atone to me."

Before he could react, the butler pushed them into a huge iron cage. The black cloth was suddenly pulled away.

Inside were vicious stray dogs.

Lily shrieked in terror.

"Let me out! I don't want to be in here!"

"Chelsea, what gives you the right to do this!"

Ethan looked at me deeply.

He smiled bitterly.

"Honey, are you punishing me this way?"

"Then I accept it willingly, as long as you'll forgive me."
