Werewolf
Saving Tragedy Chapter 79
*****Ashton's POV*****
I sit in my office chair twiddling my thumbs as I wait for my most anticipated moment to play out - dealing with Jacob.
'Alpha? He's awake.' I hear one of my men call to me through mind link as I nod slowly to myself in thought.
'Bring him up to my office but don’t let him see Rose - let him have a talk with me, Alpha to Alpha.' I respond, knowing that my words about us talking civilly held no real weight to them.
Knowing that he was on his way here now made me itchy - longing for revenge and unsettled on what punishment method suited him best.
His crimes were unforgivable, helping me with the investigation of Derrick for all of these months when he knew all along where those children were being held.
I was irritated with myself for not suspecting anything sooner, having the hood pulled completely over my eyes by him especially!
I would go as far to say that he was involved in taking the children too, with many of the disappearances coming from his own damn region! All this time, he’s just been diverting us whenever we even considered going down South to look for them - he was the definition of a snake in the grass.
Fucking bitch that he is!
I wait around for what feels like ten minutes, sifting through some of the work splayed across my desk that I still had to catch up on after everything… when the anticipated knock is heard hammering down on my door.
“Come in!” I yell, only for the first guard to push the door open - dragging Jacob in behind him with another two of my men on each arm.
Jacob’s face is bloody and heavily swollen, since I had gave my cell guards the brutal instruction to give him a warm welcome in to our pack: showing him no mercy.
I told them - ‘anything but death will be appropriate’ and by the look of him, it looked like they had done their jobs.
“Jacob.” I spit out his name like poison, showing my routed disgust for what he has done as he is shoved down in to the seat opposite me with a gruff grunt.
“This is bullshit… and you know it!” Jacob lights up instantly, furious with how things had panned out for him.
Furious only because he had been caught that is!
“Shut the fuck up! You wouldn’t be sitting in this state if you hadn’t betrayed me in the first place! Did you seriously think that siding with them would have worked out well for you?! Against me?!” I lean forward, slamming my hands on the table and not liking his tone.
He may have been a well respected Alpha, but now, all I see is a weak fucking coward sitting across from me.
“You are young Ashton, you would have joined them eventually too if it weren’t for that stupid little girl you decided to feel sorry for: you just had to go and mate with our fucking sacrifice didn’t you!” Jacob yells, leaning forward as my guards instantly shove him backwards to keep his distance from me.
If we fight right now, I’ll wind up killing him and that would be far too kind for the crimes he has committed…
“HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT MY MATE! DID YOU EVEN KNOW THAT THEY WERE HER PARENTS?! HER OWN FUCKING BIRTH PARENTS WHO WANTED HER DEAD!” I argue, feeling my temper boil as I try my upmost hardest to suppress my wolf.
“It was either her or them!” Jacob grits out under his breath, and at that, I laugh loudly and throw back my head in exaggeration.
“Yeah and look at how that turned out for you?” I continue to chuckle, taking sheer pride in the fact that I had killed his precious cult leaders without much of a fight.
Psychopaths the lot of them!
“I want to know your reasoning for the children, Jacob? Enlighten me? How do you plan to justify kidnapping hundreds of children to make slaves?!” I fold my arms firmly, raising a brow in mockery as he sniffles his bloody nose and straightens up slightly.
“I had a pack to run…” Jacob speaks quietly, as I tilt my head and squint at him as though he was an alien sent down from space to test me.
“Come again? SPEAK UP!” I slam a heavy hand down on the table which startles him and only feeds my ego further - fucking pussy that he is!
“We had packs to run! We couldn’t draw attention to our location and so we needed people to run the factories and fields whilst we were gone… there was less risk with children escaping or fighting us back so it just made sense!” Jacob actually attempts to justify the actions, and with that, I pick up a metal paperweight within arms reach and throw it directly at his head.
It lands in between his brows in a split second, catching him completely off guard as he yells and clutches up at his forehead as the blood begins to spill through his fingers.
He’s a fucking foolish man and it made me sick to my stomach to think that I valued him for so many years!
“BASTARDS! EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!” I rage, knowing that my wolf was at tipping point now.
“Listen to me clearly Jacob, I have already overrun your pack and I plan to punish you for this for many years to come simply because death would be far too sweet for somebody as scummy as you!” I spit at him, as he moves to pounce at me - being instantly restrained by my guards.
He was unable to shift, due to his injuries and the agonising silver poison he was forced to drink in our cells - a staple for all of our worst prisoners.
I won’t even let them enjoy the damn taste of their water!
“Oh and I won’t stop there either Jacob, believe me! I’ll punish your mate, your children, your whole entire family blood line - all for what you’ve done!” I speak smugly, enjoying that I had the upper hand with this.
I seem to strike a nerve with him on that, as he thrashes violently against the guards hold once again - yelling profanities and calling me a monster amongst other words.
How ironic.
I had no real intentions of torturing his mate or his children, however they would be forced to relocate abroad with a warning that if they ever return back to this country, his mate will face immediate execution and will lose her children forever.
But there was no harm in him thinking that I was torturing them all - I’ll let that thought fuck with his mind.
“You’re a fucking sick little prick!” Jacob snarls at me, saliva spilling everywhere like a rabid animal as he loses his shit and the vein pops out on his neck.
“Get him out of my sight and maybe put him in for an acid bath before bed tonight eh? I think he deserves the luxury boys, don’t you?! But remember, I still want him alive.” I laugh, waving my hand to dismiss him which only infuriates him more as the guards laugh back with me.
They haul him up to his feet, as he raises his legs to kick my desk - pushing it towards me ever so slightly in an outburst as I sit smugly and watch him be dragged out of my office and back towards his cold damp cell.
Unfortunately for him, he picked the wrong side in all of this and the consequences now were uncanny.
I hear him yelling down the hallways, as I stand to move towards the large windows in my office - waiting there for a moment before I see my guards drag him out front and in to the security van to be transported back to his cell.
Savouring the moment, I hear a soft knock behind me as I turn on my heels to find Rose poking her head around the door, causing me to frown.
“Why did you come up here?!” I snap at her, as her eyes widen in concern as she hobbles her way inside the room.
“I wanted to check on you… I heard him yelling…” Rose admits softly, as I fold my arms in a cross manner and shoot her a knowing look.
“You should have waited for me! I don’t want you climbing up and down the stairs with your leg still messed up - you need to take it easy!” I scold, as she nods and looks towards the floor.
I approach her with a sigh, putting my fingers under her chin to force her to look back up at me.
“Just please stay downstairs, you could have sent me a mind-link instead of coming up here.” I tell her, my tone softening as I look in to her innocent eyes.
“Sorry…” She mumbles, as I smirk and nod once before leaning in for a kiss that she immediately returns.
I scoop her up in a quick motion, causing her to squeal in surprise as she pulls back from the kiss and giggles, wrapping her hands around my neck.
“You didn’t see him when he was here did you?” I suddenly ask, walking us out of the office and back downstairs to our temporary bedroom.
“Nope… Sawyer told me when he was gone.” She confirms, as I nod respectfully.
She didn’t have to see him, not to be reminded of what they almost did to her.
“You’re safe.” I find the words escaping without thought, as she looks in to my eyes and smiles gently.
Tucking her head in the nook of my neck, allowing for me to carry her towards our room, I felt content having her back in my arms - safe in my own pack as we both embark on our next adventure, becoming parents.
