He clapped his hands. A group of people dragged Rain in. Her fish tail had been pierced through, bloody and raw.

They threw her on the ground like trash. She lifted her head to look at me, gently shaking her head.

My jaw tightened, but I still pretended to be casual. "Just her? Not enough."

Sebastian seemed to have anticipated this reaction. He threw back his head and laughed, then fixed his gaze on me. "One mermaid certainly isn't enough. But what if I add all living beings throughout the realm?"

My expression hardened. "This plague—you're behind it!"

"Now I'm giving you two choices." He smiled triumphantly. "Either offer your heart willingly, and I have medicine to cure the disease. Or let this mermaid sing. But the world is vast—can she save everyone? Her voice will give out before she's even made a dent."

"Adrian, you've still lost."

Rain and I locked eyes. We both understood this was the final moment. No room for carelessness.

Sebastian was growing impatient when footsteps sounded outside.

Then an aged voice filled with fury rang out. "You rebellious son! To think you'd do something so inhuman!"

Emma appeared at the door, supporting Father.

After a moment of shock, Sebastian said through gritted teeth, "Father, I became this way because of you. You always praised me over my brother in public, but I knew that in your heart, my brother was the best candidate to lead the dragon clan. 'Love deeply, discipline harshly.'

You and that serpent-dragon were deeply in love back then, only forced apart by Mother's family's pressure. At the end of the day, you're just a heartless man who craved power. If I'll do anything for power, what's wrong with that?"

"You rebellious son! You commit such atrocities and dare blame me? Today, I'll end you myself!"

Sebastian snorted coldly and suddenly attacked Father.

Father was knocked back three steps by the force, coughing up blood.

"You actually set up a God-Slaying Array?" Father was shocked and furious.

Sebastian at this moment was completely mad, his eyes blood-red, his hair wild—signs of demonic possession.
