I went to the Cold Pool where criminal gods were imprisoned.

First, I visited Sebastian.

He'd become skeletal, his hair gone white, his face covered in wrinkles—the result of his spiritual power dissipating.

Seeing me, his eyes still filled with bone-deep hatred.

"Adrian, I'll wait—wait until the day you die. Next time, I won't necessarily lose to you!"

I gazed at him quietly for a long time before finally saying, "Emma gave birth to your child. A baby girl, born three days ago. She's adorable."

He suddenly went silent, completely stunned.

I didn't linger. As I walked away, I could still hear his anguished shouts from far behind.

"What are you going to do to my daughter? You can't hurt my daughter!"

Next, I visited Elena.

Her spiritual power had completely dissipated under the Cold Pool's influence.

She'd returned to her original state of weak power.

Seeing me enter, she tried to rush forward excitedly but was held back by the ropes embedded deep in her shoulder blades.

"Adrian, Adrian, you finally came to see me. I knew you hadn't forgotten me."

"Adrian, I'm your bride. Please choose me, take me away."

"You'll feed me your heart's blood, right? You'll buy me lots and lots of gifts."

"From now on, I'll listen to everything you say. I'll go to banquets with you obediently. I won't like Sebastian anymore. I'll only love you."

Amid her endless chatter, I sighed and spoke, "Elena, it's too late."

"I already have someone I love."

She stopped all movement. Tears welled up in her beautiful eyes.

Then she silently walked back to her corner and curled up there.

After a long time, she finally parted her lips. "Just kill me."

I shook my head. "Death is the easiest thing. I won't kill you."

"But you won't set me free either, will you?"

I neither confirmed nor denied it.

"I've only now realized—when you stop loving someone, you truly become heartless." She laughed mockingly.

I turned and walked out of the Cold Pool in silence.
