The Killer I Know Chapter 15
At the police station, Daniel's protégé, Officer Ryan Mitchell, took my statement.
I acted completely traumatized, my body trembling continuously, tears never stopping.
"Our condolences, ma'am. We will definitely catch the killer. Don't worry."
Just as Ryan was comforting me, the door burst open and an officer said frantically, "He, he, he turned himself in."
Ryan asked urgently, "Who?"
"Ethan Porter, the serial killer."
Ryan immediately looked at me. "Ma'am, I need to check this out."
Soon after, Ethan and I made eye contact through the office glass. Neither of us showed any expression.
Ethan confessed to all the crimes, including the details of each murder.
All of this I had implanted in him through hypnosis during our psychological counseling sessions. I hadn't missed a single detail.
Two days later, the case was completely closed.
Ethan was transferred to court. I never visited him once.
Because I knew we would meet again.
I went to pay respects to my mother.
This was my first visit since returning home, and perhaps it would be my last.
That day, the weather was clear, just like the day my mother died.
I knew my mission was complete.
I changed my name back to Luna Hartley.
Because that was the name my mother gave me.
Luna—the most flawless and beautiful thing in the world.
In the end, I was sentenced to death at the age of 30.
