"Leo, Leo!"

Leo's eyes were bloodshot. Suddenly, he heard Ilara calling him.

He woke with a start, only to find he was pinning Adrian, who was covered in blood, to the ground. Adrian had closed his eyes, drifting in and out of consciousness.

Adrian’s lips were bright red, spitting out pieces that looked like internal organs along with blood.

From beginning to end, he hadn't fought back.

Leo turned his head and saw Ilara's panicked, anxious expression. Police officers burst in from the rain, guns drawn, shouting for him to surrender.

Medical staff followed closely with a stretcher.

Leo looked at Ilara, wanting to reach out and touch her cheek, but she subconsciously dodged.

He finally snapped out of his trance and saw his hands covered in mottled bloodstains of varying shades.

His knuckles were even skinned from hitting too hard.

He seemed to understand why Adrian said those words, and why he wore those mourning clothes.

Ilara collapsed on her knees in front of them. The pure, beautiful white veil wrapped around her body like a pile of melting snow as she buried her face in her hands and cried.

Under the veil, she looked dreamlike.

Leo reached out, as if they had truly stepped into the sacred hall. He solemnly swore to love her and protect her forever...

Then why is she crying?

His bloody hands had only soiled her pure white wedding dress.

Amidst her falling tears, Leo was taken away without resistance.

In the intensive care unit, Ilara looked through the glass window at Adrian, whose eyes were still closed tight. She sighed in exhaustion.
